Norma Jane Hatfield Nelson March 23, 1936 - March 26, 2024

Norma Jane Hatfield Nelson, 88, of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away on March 26, 2024.

She was born on March 23, 1936 in Springville, Utah to her loving parents Oran Hatfield and Gladys Avery Deuel. Norma grew up in Springville where she graduated from Springville High School with the class of 1954. She spent some time in Mapleton and then moved to Spanish Fork in 2012. She married her sweetheart Burton LeVoid Nelson on August 29, 1957 in the Salt Lake, Utah Temple. After trying for several years of being unable to have children, they were able to adopt a daughter, LesLee and then a short 14 months later, a son, Thad. She took care of him until she was unable, and she moved into an assisted living facility. Norma worked 43 years (her entire career) as a secretary for Howard and Lewis Attorneys at Law.

Norma loved doing anything that involved spending time with her family. Especially when it involved camping and playing card and board games. She loved exploring different states and national parks. She has many fond memories of spending time with her Elks group of friends golfing until she was no longer able to.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Burton L. Nelson; her parents, Oran & Avery Hatfield; sister, Cheryl Hatfield; brother, Oran Hatfield; brother and sister-in-laws.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslee Adamson (Mark) of Spanish Fork, Utah; son, Thad Nelson of Spanish Fork, Utah; Grandchildren: Brooke Davis (Nathan) of Spanish Fork, Utah, Hailey Katzenbach (Jesse) of Lehi, Utah, Hannah Adamson of Pocatello, Idaho; Great grandchildren: Blakely Katzenbach, Beckham Katzenbach, and Calum Davis; Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Colleen (Kyle) Stubbs of Argyle, Texas, Linda (George) Jones of Mesquite, Nevada; sister-in-law, Myrtle Flanders, Hurricane, Utah; brother-in-law, Keith Garlick of Bountiful, Utah.

We would like to give a special thank you to Enhabit Hospice, Addison (RN), Justine (Aide), and Heather (Social Worker) for their unending love and compassion to Norma and her family. We would also like to express our gratitude to Hearthstone Manor and Staff for their kindness and love toward Norma.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. located at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation prior to the graveside from 10:00-10:45 a.m. located at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.
