McKoy “Koy” Edward Coughlan was born February 9, 1997, in Payson, UT to Edward and Kimberlie Coughlan. He passed away on November 22, 2023, at the young age of 26.
As a young boy, Koy loved to play baseball and you would always find him with a glove and ball in his hand. As he got older, it turned to girls, hanging out with his friends, and golf. This last year golf became his sanctuary, and he would play 18 holes almost every day, some days even going back for more. He had a hell of a chip shot.
Koy spent his days doing anything that involved using his hands, including construction and concrete with his dad. He was never afraid to try something new, and always offered a helping hand to anyone who asked, no matter the project. Koy enjoyed putting his creative mind to work and leaves behind a collection of Legos, paintings, and drawings. He put his whole heart into everything he did.
Koy always entertained us all with his wildly outrageous “lit” outfits and fancy sneakers. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone; he loved hard. He had such a loving and kind soul, and energetic personality. His infectious laughter brought a smile to everyone he knew.
He is survived by his parents, Ed and Kim Coughlan, his sisters McKenzie (Cody) and McKayla Coughlan and his beloved dog Dexter. He is preceded in death by his Grandpa “pup” Ronald Coughlan and Grandma Judy Mattinson, which we all know is a joyous reunion.
He is missed beyond measure by everyone who knew him, and our lives will never be the same without our Koy Boy. We love you forever.
A visitation where family and friends may gather to celebrate Koy will be held Tuesday morning, November 28, 2023, from 9:45 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. A funeral service will then be held at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Following the funeral, interment will be at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.

November 27, 2023 at 5:04 amThere wasn’t a time where I would speak to Mickey and he wouldn’t tell me I was the best dad and how he loved me so much and how proud he was. This dude had the biggest heart there possibly could be and was the most amazing human being. Love you long time my dear friend. Sure going to miss those 10pm phone calls when I’m in bed and him asking what I’m doing and if he could come say hi.
