Brett Fredrick Wood October 20, 1996 - January 11, 2024

Brett Fredrick Wood passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2024, following a short illness requiring hospitalization for a month.  He maintained a good attitude throughout his ordeal, always answering “I’m fine,” when asked how he was feeling.

Brett was born October 20, 1996, the youngest of three sons of William and Junette Wood of Spanish Fork, Utah.  He is the grandson of Charles and Ruby Wood, and Oral and June Bartholomew. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School, Class of 2015.  He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending the Spanish Fork YSA Ward.

Brett was a quiet soul, always willing to help others when asked.  He enjoyed gardening and caring for his dogs and chickens. He liked nothing better than taking his three young nephews: Hunter, Hudson, and Hagen, to the city park to play on the toys, or to the library to read picture books.

He is survived by his parents; older brothers, Kevin and Brian; his three nephews; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents and several extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.- 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, January 16, 2024, followed by a short funeral service, at the Spanish Fork LDS 12th Ward Chapel, 310 East Center Street, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660. Dedication of the grave and interment will be at approximately 12:30 p.m. at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.

I just learned of Bret’s passing. I am so sorry. I loved being one of Bret’s teachers at Park. He always worked so hard. He was polite & kind to everyone. His big sweet eyes could melt anyone’s heart. I know he was warmly welcomed into the spirit world. He will do much good & be extremely loved there just as he touched so many of us here. I can’t imagine your deep sorrow & how much you’ll miss him as a family. You have my most sincere sympathy.

Dear Junette, William and Family, just wanted to add my deepest sympathy at the passing of your sweet Brett. His meek, and gentle countenance showed in his face. I will picture him walking the dogs with his mom several times a day. I imagined what a choice relationship they must have and the precious conversations they shared. May all of your memories help at this time. With love and prayers.
