Many families are choosing cremation as a form of disposition. While cremation simply refers to the process of disposition many families do not realize that cremation actually gives you more options for memorialization. Every service available for burial is also available for cremation. Whether you choose to embalm, have a visitation and funeral then cremate or plan on a simple cremation we are available to help with any option you choose.
At Walker Funeral Home we know the importance of knowing your loved one is being taken care of with the highest degree of ethics and compassion. For that reason we have our own crematory on site and your loved one never leaves our care.
While some funeral home chooses to use a 3rd Party crematory and may not be present during cremation we know how important your loved one is. We have our own crematory on site. We only have licensed Funeral Directors who have become Certified Crematory Operators through The National Funeral Directors Association assist with the cremation. We only cremate one body at a time. We also utilize a tracking system to ensure that you receive your loved one without question. We understand the importance of ensuring the cremation is done right and that starts with using the right funeral home.
Our cremation center is a place where your family may gather to identify your loved one before cremation. It is also a place where you may witness the cremation if you wish. We built our facility knowing the importance of knowing things are done properly and giving your family the opportunity to ensure your loved one is taken care of.
As you make your choice please know we are here to help. We know the value and importance of paying proper respects, memorializing, and honoring requests. As you select cremation know that your options are not limited to just a cremation, but open to all forms of memorialization including a viewing and funeral service if you wish. If you wish to have a public viewing, we encourage embalming to have an optimal viewing experience and ensure your loved one looks their best. If you do not wish to have a viewing embalming is not required but still an option if you wish. Whatever choice you make we will be right beside you to help answer questions and ensure your loved one is properly cared for.
For more information on cremation or to answer any questions you may have please feel free to contact us at any time. We have an open-door policy and want you to feel at peace with the decisions you make.
