The mortal journey of William Mark Metzelar (Billy) came to an end on March 21, 2023 too quickly at the age of 46. His love for the Savior never wavered as he courageously battled health challenges and it is with heavy hearts that we announced the passing of passing of our Son, Brother, Father, friend, and cousin. Billy was a natural Rescue Hero as he much of his adult life in the transportation industry. His tireless work ethic and commitment to everyone was well known.
His remarkable life began January 9, 1977, when he was born to Geoffrey and Vicki Metzelar in Canoga Park, California. Billy was their first child and spent several weeks in the pre-natal care unit at the University of California Los Angeles fighting to gain strength to come home to his parents. He was also the first grandchild to his Grandparents Hiatt and Metzelar, who was an integral part in the framing of the man he would become. He grew into a large stature of a man, and regularly teased his younger cousins.
Many of the principles and philosophies that Bill lived by were rooted in demanding work, honest and integrity. Through his work came blessings of knowing what was truly important and the direction his life should take early on. He married Clarissa Workman and brought a son, Ethan to join their family.
Billy often talks about Ethan and was always a cherished part of his life. He loved to great outdoors and enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, and all water sports. He honorably served a fulltime mission in the Bristol England Mission. Billy felt privileged to have served in many priesthood and auxiliary organizations in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints during his mortal life.
Billy with his infectious smile is survived by his parents, son Ethan, brother Geoff, sisters Kimberly (Kevin) and Donna; and many cousins, nieces, Skylar and Malia, uncles, and aunts . He was preceded by the passings of grandparents Geoffrey and Alice Metzelar, David H. and Marilyn S. Hiatt.
A viewing tribute will be at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main street, Spanish Fork, Utah on Saturday March 25, 2023, form 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, compassion, and support of everyone has shown to the Metzelar family during this challenging time.
