Wilda May Lowe Gordon peacefully left this earth on August 30, 2023. Wilda was born June 2, 1940 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was the fifth child of ten children born to John Powell and Vera May Lowe. Wilda grew up in Springville in a small two room home on 700 South. She attended school in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1958. Wilda married Rulon Jesse Gordon on September 13, 1958. They moved to California where they lived with her Aunt Wilda. Their first child was born there. They soon moved back to Utah and bought a small house in Spanish Fork. They soon needed to add onto their home as four more children soon joined their family. Wilda loved being a homemaker and raising her children.

Wilda had a kind and loving heart and showed her kindness to everyone she came in contact with. The Gordon home was often the stopping point for many extended family members that needed a hot meal or a place to stay. It was not unusual to find nieces, nephews or grandchildren staying at her house. She loved being with and talking to people. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and since conversation came easy to her she would tell anyone willing to listen all about them. There was always a hum at the Gordon home due to the buzz of conversation coming from the windows.

Wilda had many hobbies. She was talented with a crochet hook. Many family members were the recipients of her beautifully crocheted afghans, doilies, booties, and baby dresses. She loved shopping. She loved finding a good deal. Kelly remembers being her bag boy growing up and packing many filled shopping bags. Even in her later years she would call him to come put together her latest find. Wilda moved in with her daughter Diana a few years ago and as they were cleaning out her house it was not unusual to find multiple new small appliances she had stored away after buying them for a bargain. She also loved pets, for years she would leave food out for the neighborhood cats. She loved her dogs, they were her precious companions. She leaves behind her sweet Heidi. She loved to travel. She went to Hawaii, South America, and Europe. During the last few years, the trips were much shorter and closer to home but she and Diana would still get out for a good road trip.

Wilda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-dDay Saints. She and Rulon were sealed as an eternal family on June 21, 1967, in the Manti, Utah Temple.

Wilda is survived by her children: Kelly (Lisa) Gordon, Randy Gordon, Rodney Gordon, and Diana Jeffs. Nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Siblings: Lewis (Connie) Lowe and Julie (Jon) Sorensen, many nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rulon, daughter Lorrie, grandson’s: Jason and Kelly Darren Huff, son-in-law Robert Jeffs, siblings: Nancy Williams, Margaret Beardall, George Lowe, Larry Lowe, John “Vernon” Lowe, Rena Jewkes, and Eddie Lowe.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Payson 2nd Ward Chapel, 274 South Main Street, Payson, Utah.
