Wayne Eugene Miller returned to his heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones on December 13, 2021.
Wayne was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa on May 25, 1927, to Joy and Florence Miller. He grew up on a farm in Minnesota with his older brother and three sisters buying and selling piglets with his father.
He married Shirley Hansen and they welcomed a daughter into their family while they lived in Minnesota.
Wayne and Shirley purchased a farm in West Plains, Missouri and added a son to their family. Drought forced him to walk away from his farm and move to California where they added their third child to the family. He began his new career working at the Texaco oil refinery and retired there as a supervisor.
He moved to Mt. Vernon Washington in 1984 and started working as a consultant for a contractor and Texaco. Shirley passed away in June of 1996.
On January 10, 1999, Wayne married Mary Louise Skiles in Washington and together they created a blended family.
In his spare time, Wayne found enjoyment in golf, sports, woodworking and he loved to dance. He loved country western music and movies. He took pride in the care of his yard and hobby garden. He volunteered much of his time to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temples in Bellevue, Washington and Provo, Utah.
Wayne is survived by his darling wife, Mary, and his children, David Wayne (Mot) Miller, Robert (Gaylene) Miller, Scott (Lurlena) McIntyre, and Lori (George) Smith. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as his sister, Wilma Pagenkopf. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Hansen, his daughter, Linda Dunlap and two grandsons, Ammon and Aaron Dunlap.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Walker Funeral Home in Payson – 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah – at 3:00 in the afternoon with a funeral service at 4:00 in the afternoon.
