January 12, 2026 at 3:32 pmOh man, what a loss. Ugh, I’m sorry to hear about this. Growing up in Alpine with David, well Wayne was always one of the “cool dads” where you looked at him and listened to his stories and thought, “Ya I wanna be like that when I grow up!” Later on, I lived down south and would run into Wayne at Payson Market, or around town… even talked to him out at his mailbox one day driving past. What a great guy, always proud of his family, a mutual love of horses and the outdoors. Wayne was one of those rare people I could stand and talk to for hours and never get bored. Great man, great family and I don’t think they really make them like Wayne anymore!! My condolences to Diane, to my childhood pal David and the rest of the Miller gang, on your husband and father on saddling up and taking that last ride. The Pearly Gates will surely swing wide open to let that cowboy in!! -Brent McGhie

I loved his big horse he had, I think his name was Dunn? My condolences to Diane and they family. I’m so glad it was live so I could watch it on my lunch break. It was a beautiful funeral.
