Virginia Fox Cogan, cherished friend and mother, passed away on February 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 12, 1947, in Portland, Oregon, and her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Virginia was a woman of remarkable qualities. Her caring nature, boundless generosity, and sharp wit endeared her to everyone she encountered. She had a zest for life that was contagious, finding joy in every adventure that came her way. Whether it was navigating river rapids, exploring snow caves, or soaring through the air on a zip line, Virginia embraced each experience with enthusiasm and fearlessness. In her youth, she found solace and freedom in riding horses through the countryside.
Her compassionate nature extended to her volunteer work at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, where she poured her heart into caring for animals in need. Virginia also found solace in the simple pleasures of yard work and the intricate art of crochet. Her love for literature led her to work at the bookstore, where she enjoyed socializing with customers, especially the children. In addition to her many interests, Virginia held a special place in her heart for Elvis Presley, whose music brought her immense joy and comfort throughout her life.
Virginia was a member of the Orchard Hills Bible Church. Her spiritual journey was an essential part of her life, and she found fulfillment in studying the Bible and learning about the angels.
Virginia was never one to shy away from speaking her mind, and her candidness endeared her to those who knew her best. Her sharp wit and ability to deliver a funny comeback were unmatched, bringing laughter to all who knew her.
Although Virginia’s physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
