Valdecir de Oliveira, age 58, tragically passed away on December 3rd, 2024, due to a car accident while going out with his family. Valdecir was born on March 12th, 1966, in Vinhedo – Brazil. He was known as Decio, a nickname he created for himself and that most of his friends knew him by.
Valdecir went to college and graduated in electrical engineering, later becoming one of the best in town.
He met his sweetheart Debora while still very young and they fell in love deeply. They got married on September 5th, 1986, and ended up having two children, Camila and Luana, and two grandchildren, Jordan and Zoey, which he dedicated every minute of his life and all his love to them. Valdecir proved himself to be a wonderful and dedicated father, husband, and grandfather. He always put in the extra effort for his whole family, caring for their needs, always dedicated and hardworking, who always put the needs of others ahead of his own and he never stopped loving them with all of his heart.
In his free time, Valdecir loved spending quality time with his family, watching movies together, listening to country music, traveling to new places, and barbecuing in the mountains. He was also a big fan of the soccer team Corinthians and enjoyed watching their matches on TV.
Valdecir’s personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered, and his passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. Although he has left his beautiful family behind for a moment, he will always be in their hearts and minds until they meet again. A father like him is rare, one that’s so generous, smart, lovely and kind. A father like him is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing his best to make us happy. Nothing can replace a father like him, but when he gets to Heaven, Heavenly Father will be lucky to have him too. We love you Decio and we will be missing and loving you until we meet again!
The service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the church located at 250 S 580 E, Santaquin, UT 84655. We will have a viewing from 9 AM to 11 AM, followed by the service from 11 AM to 12 PM. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at East Lawn Cemetery, 4800 Timpview Dr, Provo, UT 84604.
Thank you to everyone who can join us to say our final goodbyes and for your support during this difficult time. With gratitude, Camila Oliveira Smith.

December 14, 2024 at 1:12 amDear and beloved son, Today, with my heart filled with longing and emotion, I leave these words in your honor, while your sister writes them for me.
You were awaited with so much love and anxiety, and the day of your birth marked my life in a unique way. Of all my children, you were the only one I brought into the world alone, at home, just the two of us. At that moment, I had the privilege of being the first to hold you in my arms, my chubby, blond, perfect boy.
My heart was filled with an indescribable love, which only grew with the passing of the years. Since you were little, you brought joy and light to everyone around you. Your aunts adored you and could hardly wait to take you home. It was impossible not to be enchanted by your affectionate manner and your intelligence.
Having you in my life was a special gift, my sweet boy. You were always smart, full of life, and you never gave me any trouble.
On the contrary, you supported me in so many moments and encouraged me to dream bigger, including giving me the push I needed to take a step forward in my career. Following your journey has been a privilege.
Seeing you get married, start a beautiful family and be a loving father to your daughters was a source of great pride for me. Even when you decided to live far away, in the United States, I knew that your happiness was in your dreams.
Our farewell was difficult, I cried for days, but I understood that your happiness was mine too. Our video calls were moments that I looked forward to with all my heart. You made a point of including me in your life, showing me the landscapes, the mountains, the snow and the cities.
Despite the distance, I felt you close, sharing your achievements and your world with me.
My boy, the pain of your departure is indescribable, but I carry with me the certainty that this is not a goodbye, but rather a see you soon.
I am grateful to God for allowing me to be your mother for 58 years. These years were full of love, learning and happiness. I love you deeply and I always will.
A piece of me goes with you, but I carry your light and your smile in my heart, until the day we meet again. With eternal love,
Your mama.

December 14, 2024 at 1:34 amMy dear brother, The last few days have been filled with indescribable pain for all of us. It is impossible not to think about you and our conversations, especially the ones when you advised me to return to church. Your voice echoes in my heart, as if you were still here talking to me. It is impossible to hear about you or remember our moments without tears falling.
My heart aches when I think that today I am not around to say one last “see you soon”. How I wish I had had the opportunity to be more present, to spend time with you during the last few years, but life took a different path than I expected.
I still fondly remember our farewell at home, when you left for the United States with your family. I remember your hug, your unique way of encouraging me, of telling me not to give up on my own dreams and to travel too.
I also remember our last conversation on the phone. It was 11 minutes that carry such great weight today, because even from a distance, you never stopped worrying about me and offering me your advice, as you always did.
Now, all we have is longing. And along with it, the regret for not having said everything that was in my heart, for not having said “I love you” more often. But deep down I know that this is not the end. It is just a pause. It is a “see you soon”.
I ask that you watch over us, that you continue to guide us with your love and your wisdom, even from where you are now. I love you, my brother, with all my heart.
And if, at any time, I did something that hurt you, forgive me. You will always be a part of me.
With love, your sister.
