With humble hearts and fond memories, we celebrate the life of a dedicated man, Theron Deon Hone, who returned to his Heavenly Father on February 27, 2025. Theron was born on May 3, 1944, in Provo, Utah, to Glendore and Minnie Matilda Horrocks Hone. He grew up in Lake Shore, Utah
Theron was a graduate of Spanish Fork High School. On October 19, 1966, Theron married his sweetheart, Karen Ralphs, and they raised their family in Payson, Utah. After Karen passed away, he found his second sweetheart, Mary Cisneros; they were married June 18, 2016.
After graduating from Spanish Fork High School in 1963, he started working at Geneva Steel as a crane operator. His hard work and reliability were evident in his impressive thirty-seven-year tenure, where his colleagues knew him as a man who took pride in his work and set an example for all around him.
Theron was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings over the years. He served a mission and enjoyed every moment.
Theron was a man who found joy in the simple things that life had to offer. An avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. He loved these activities as they allowed him to appreciate the beautiful world around him and spend precious time with his family, which meant the world to him.
In his later years, Theron moved to Nephi, Utah, where he spent his retirement enjoying his family and creating a beautiful yard and garden that he took much pride in.
Theron is survived by his wife, Mary; and his loving children: Alan Glen (Marne) Hone of Woodland Hills, Utah; Denise (Kurt) Winnie of Nephi, Utah; Brent Hone of Spring Lake, Utah; Steven Thomas (Taunya) Hone of Smithfield, Utah; Kristine (Derek) Brandon of Nephi, Utah; and Ruben and Heidi Cisneros of Pleasant Grove; as well as 24 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers, Lynn Hone and Glade Hone. Additionally survived by his sweet little fur companion, Bella. Theron is preceded in death by his parents, Glendore and Minnie Matilda; his beloved wife, Karen; his son, Brian Hone; and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Following the service, Theron will be laid to rest at Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.
As we remember Theron, let us not forget the words he lived by, “Family is not just an important thing. It’s everything.”

March 9, 2025 at 6:41 amI have fond memories of hunting and fishing with Uncle Theron, my cousins, Uncle Carl and Grandpa Ralph’s. I moved away but when I visited family I would always stop by Uncle Theron and Aunt Karen’s house to visit. He would always send me home with a nice elk roast that my mom would cook for my dad and I. Theron was a fine man, rest in peace
