Terri Lee De Graw September 17, 1948 - January 15, 2022

Terri Lee De Graw, of Salem, Utah, passed away on January 15, 2022 after a sudden and brief battle with COVID-related health complications.

Terri was born on September 17, 1948, to James and Margaret Elliott (Smith) in Lebanon, Oregon. After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1966, she attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon.

While attending college, Terri began a 52-year career in retail.  Terri loved fashion, clothing, and shoes.  During the latter part of her career, Terri’s focus and passion turned to fitness apparel. Terri retired as Pro Shop Manager and Buyer for the Seattle Tennis Club in 2018.

It was in 1966 and while attending college that she met Tim A. De Graw.  They would wed in 1967 and went on to have two children, Heather Anne and Timothy Austin De Graw.  There was nothing she would not do for her children which she exampled through her many sacrifices and endless expressions of love and concern.

After retiring in 2018, Terri moved to Utah to spend more time with her grandkids and enjoyed their many sport competitions, performances, religious events, and eventually the marriages of her two oldest.  Nothing was of more importance and brought her more joy than her family.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents James and Margaret and husband of 24 years, Tim.  She is survived by her children Heather and Timothy (Dawnya); her brothers, John (Sandra) and James (Gloria); and her four grandchildren, Austin (Delaney), Olivia (Seth), Emily, and Isaac.

Terri lived a life of sacrifice, love, and giving.  Her tenderness and concern for others are her most memorable traits as was her endearing witty sense of humor.  Terri always demonstrated unconditional love towards family and friends.  While Terri experienced many joyful moments in her lifetime, she had more than her share of adversity and heartache, of which she endured with graceful determination. Her legacy will always be, “I can do hard things.”

Rest and have joy. We look forward to when we can see and hug you again.  Know that you will be forever loved and adored by your family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance or Best Friends Animal Society.

I had the pleasure of working with Terri for a number of years. She was so very good as a buyer and retailer, understanding of, and responsive to, customer needs. She endured personal hardships with grace and pluck and was a wonderful example to all around her. She is missed. My condolences to her family and friends.
