Ted Clifford Voorhees passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018. He was born on February 29, 1932 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Melrose and Beulah Madge Hansen Voorhees.
Cliff was known by all to have a strong work ethic. He spent much of his childhood helping his parents and grandparents take care of their land and animals. As a teenager, he also helped his mother run a small cafe. After graduating from Spanish Fork High School in 1950, Cliff began working as a meat cutter at the Safeway in Payson, Utah. He then worked for Utah County Pack before starting his own custom processing business, Circle V Meat, in 1965.
Cliff’s reputation as an honest businessman established him as a pillar of the community. He served on the board of the Strawberry Electric Service District and was a member of both the Stock Show Committee and Utah Meat Packers Association. An excellent public speaker, Cliff promoted agriculture by volunteering his time and talents to Spanish Fork High School’s Future Farmers of America. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cliff served in a number of callings, including ward clerk and Elders’ Quorum teacher.
In 1959, Cliff married Jacqueline Steffens in Springville, Utah and together they raised four children. Jackie’s knack for planning and hosting parties perfectly complemented Cliff’s outgoing personality. They particularly enjoyed hosting parties for their friends in the “Lamb Chop Club.” Cliff and Jackie were mutually committed to serving others and helping those in need.
Cliff is preceded in death by his brother, Harold; his parents, and wife. He is survived by his four children Brenda Liddiard (Dwight), Brent (Camille), Valrie Stoneman (Paul), and Preston (Mindy); his eight grandchildren; his brother Kent (Tamara); his extended family and many friends.
