Tammy Lynn Dankert, was born March 16, 1968, in Chicago, and passed away at her home in Payson, Utah, on August 4, 2025.
Tammy grew up with her parents, Bud (Robert) and Lynda Dankert, and her siblings, Todd Dankert and Tanya Hetzel, along with many loving aunts and uncles and a few foster families. At 18, she found a second family with Tom and Diane Hale in St. Paul, Minnesota, who welcomed her as she completed her senior year at Como Park Senior High School with their daughters, Cindy and Kimberly.
She considered Wisconsin “home,” and proudly called herself a Green Bay Packers cheesehead.
Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Tammy joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Iowa, dedicating herself to service and spiritual growth. Tammy leaned on her Savior, Jesus Christ, finding comfort, strength, and guidance in His Atonement. Her favorite scripture–tied to her 3/16 birthday–was John 3:16, a testament to her faith: “For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whoso believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Tammy’s greatest joy was her daughter, Kadence (“Kadee”). From the moment she learned she would become a mother, Tammy’s life was filled with purpose and love. She strived to provide a better life for herself and Kadee.
Tammy will be remembered for her love, her laugh, and her perseverance. We can still hear her cheerful farewell: “Love ya, see ya, bye!”
A memorial service was held at the Spring Lake LDS Chapel in Payson, UT, Sunday, August 10, 2025. Tammy’s ashes are in the loving care of her daughter, Kadee.
