Susan Kay Jolley, age 65, passed away Tuesday morning, February 21, 2023, at home with Andy by her side.
Susan was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 8, 1957, to Rulon and Barbara Fairholm. Her family moved to Orem, Utah when she was 7 years old, and she grew up and was educated there.
She married Robert Ferran and lived in the Salt Lake City area for 40 years. They raised 5 beautiful, successful children and have 6 grandchildren. They had one son, and 4 daughters: Dusty Alba (Jared) Lexi and Jakson, Brandon Ferran (Nicole) Emma and Elias, Nikki Terry (Chris) Drea and Brooklyn, Mikee Ferran (Vito Gasparro), and Malori Ferran (Mitch Fisco). She has one stepson Bo Jolley (Clairissa) and two stepgrandchildren, Chloe and Brody. She loved and was so proud of each and every one of them. In return they all had a great love for their mom.
She enjoyed her summers at the ballpark watching her son and grandsons play baseball. She enjoyed running, working out, and looked forward to her months at boot camp. She loved her dogs, from the tiny Yorkies, to the English Sheepdogs (Walter).
She married Andy K. Jolley, the love of her life, on December 22, 2018, and lived with him in Spanish Fork. In the third grade, they were childhood sweethearts, and renewed their friendship and fell in love after her divorce. She loved the Spanish Fork Community and living close to her sister, Diana.
Susan experienced the great outdoors with Andy, shooting pistols, shotguns, and rifles. Andy was teaching her the art of fly fishing on the rivers, lakes, and streams in Utah. They also fished the Cayes in Belize on their honeymoon trip. She loved their trips to Montana and learning about the wildlife in the west from Andy. She enjoyed four wheeling with family and friends. She loved rides through the mountains and the deserts of southern Utah with Andy. She enjoyed preparing and eating the trout they would catch and was unhappy with Andy’s catch and release policy. She loved the deer, elk, and pheasant cuisine they were able to experience because of Andy’s love of hunting.
When she married Andy, she was blessed with Laurie and Marsha giving her a total of 3 sisters, and a father-in-law that she loved dearly. She loved people and had a wonderful laugh. Susan worked at C&R Corp. in Salt Lake City for 22 years, and at CalRanch in Spanish Fork for 1½ years. She loved her customers and they loved her.
She is survived in death by her loving husband, Andy K Jolley; her mother, Barbara Fairholm; her sister, Diana Hall (Paul), David Fairholm (Esthella), and Kenny Fairholm (Sandy); her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Rulon Fairholm; her brother, Tim Fairholm; and her nephew, Troy Fairholm.
There will be a graveside service Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Orem Cemetery at 1:00 pm for a prayer, and dedication of the grave. Comments and memories can be shared at that time. If the weather conditions prove to be unsafe to drive in, there will also be a celebration of Susan’s life, in late spring/early summer. The date and time will be announced later. Please do not drive in unsafe road conditions on Tuesday.
