Steven Christensen Livestream Broadcast

Steven Glen Christensen, 73, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Rexburg, Idaho, surrounded by his loved ones, after succumbing to his illnesses.

Steven was born on September 3, 1952, in Caliente, Nevada, to Albert “Dutch” and Loretta Christensen. He spent his childhood in Caliente, where he could often be found getting into harmless trouble with friends and making the most of small town life. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1970, where he played several sports, especially enjoying baseball, basketball, and football.

A true product of the 1960s, Steven had a lifelong love for motorcycles and muscle cars. If it had four wheels or four legs, he appreciated horsepower. That love of animals and the outdoors served him well when he was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern Plains Indian Mission.

After returning home, Steven attended Brigham Young University in Provo, where he studied animal science, specializing in bovine reproduction and genetics. It was there that he met Janet, and together they welcomed three children: Jenifer, Tamara, and Cody. Though their marriage later ended in divorce, they shared a lasting bond through their children and family.

Steven worked on ranches across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Washington, truly finding his stride in the saddle with a horse beneath him and cattle to tend. Ranching was more than a job. It was where his grit, humor, and work ethic came alive. Later in life, he traded his chaps and spurs for a CDL and worked as a commercial truck driver, providing through long hours on the road and affectionately earning the nickname “Hammer.”

A devoted member of his church, Steven served in many callings over the years and sought to live as a true disciple of Christ. He was always ready with a helping hand, especially when someone needed fixing, moving, hauling, or simply a listening ear.

Steven is survived by his children: Jenifer Lee Rutledge (Sean), Tamara Kaye LeBlanc (Seth), and Cody Steven Christensen (Brittanny). He was a proud grandfather to Skyler, Steven, Sebastian, Samuel, Lucille, Lillian and Eleanor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert “Dutch” and Loretta Christensen; and his siblings, William Paul Christensen (Kay), Albert Jay Christensen (Pauline), and Dennis Christensen (Victoria).

Steven will be remembered for his strong hands, generous heart, steady faith, and the deep love he had for his family. He wished to be remembered as someone who was happy and truly enjoyed life.

Steven’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the Homestead Senior Living, Hospice of Eastern Idaho, and Senior Solutions for the loving care they provided.

Funeral services will be held on February 13, 2026, at the Cherry Hill Stake Center (1700 S. 400 E., Orem, UT 84058). A viewing will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

Sending love to your family. Just seeing this today. Your father would often walk the Orem University Place mall. I have worked at the Silver loft kiosk for 15 years and he would stop and visit with me and share lots of stories. He is one of the good ole men that knew how to work and value family. Sorry for your loss and all the mall walkers send their condolences. Take care.
