Our wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, Steven Carl Oldham left this world on November 6, 2018. Steve was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Albert Ernest Oldham and Nelda Lucille Van Dyke on December 18, 1949. He was the third of eight children. He spent his childhood in Salt Lake City, before his parents moved the family to Fillmore, UT, and finally Kemmerer, WY. He always loved sports and enjoyed playing football in school. Steve graduated from Kemmerer High School before serving a two year mission in Arizona and Nevada for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Following his mission Steve attended Brigham Young University where he met the love of his life LuAnne Tracy. They shared 44 wonderful years of marriage together and had seven children. His wife, children, and grandchildren were his pride and joy. When Steve was young one of the things he loved doing most was riding horses. He loved watching sports and was an avid reader. He always made an effort to learn more about whatever his children were interested in so that he could discuss it with them. He was a great listener and his loved ones all treasured him as a confidant. He cherished his grandchildren and enjoyed playing games with them whenever they came to visit.
While attending BYU, Steve worked with his brothers Don and Levor as the Circulation Manager for their business The Shopper’s Guide. Over time the Shopper’s Guide evolved into three businesses and all of Steve’s brothers and his brother-in-law worked together to make them successful. Steve spent most of his career as the Chief Financial Officer of The Utah County Journal, Digital Technology International, and Liberty Press.
Steve and LuAnne made their first home in Santaquin, UT before moving to their beloved Covered Bridge Canyon. His final home was in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Steve served in many church callings in both Utah and Arizona, and was a great example of righteousness to all who knew and served with him. He significantly blessed the wards and stakes in which he served due to his profound knowledge of the gospel and the exemplary way he lived.
Steve is survived by his sweetheart, LuAnne; seven children: Kathryn (Keni) Reid, Benjamin (Angela) Oldham, Joseph (Amy) Oldham, Michael (Natalie) Oldham, Lisa (Matthew) Francom, Jared (Lauren) Oldham, and Jason Oldham; his 25 grandchildren: Gordon, Ella, Jace, Kalia, Adelyn, Trevin, Halie, Liam, Eva, Hannah, Emmy, Megan, Samuel, Blake, Reid, Charley, Benjamin, Kate, Brock, Lafe, Scott, Cade, Wyatt, Jackson, and Charlotte; and his siblings: Don (Leslie) Oldham, Levor (Christine) Oldham, Morlin (Rebecca) Oldham, Wade (Sherri) Oldham, Margaret (Jeffrey) Cooper, Mark (Anna) Oldham, and Byron (MarChele) Oldham. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Nelda and his father and mother-in-law Charley and Inez Tracy.
