Stephen Leroy Turner, 70, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Provo, Utah. Stephen was born to Jerry Leroy and Bonnie Lee Wheeler Turner on March 2, 1955, in Portland, Oregon. He was one of four children and was raised in Provo, Utah where he graduated from high school.
Stephen honorably served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam war combat veteran. He married Linda Hill on February 14, 1987, in Orem, Utah.
Stephen worked hard as a long-haul truck driver. In addition to his career as a truck driver, he operated restaurants, including a café in Eureka, Utah for more than a decade where he was a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge.
He cherished his time at home with family and friends and loved organizing get-togethers and feeding people at gatherings. He appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Linda; children, Sam (Dion) Turner of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Stephanie (Seth) Miles of Radcliffe, Iowa, Shanna (Jeremy) Turner of Colfax, Iowa, Bonnie (Alan) Hawkes of Payson, Utah, Abby Bray (Rory Bullock) of Salem, Utah, and Melissa Cornelius of Springville, Utah, and Stephen Turner of Granbury, Texas; siblings, Ron (Brenda) Turner and Sherry (Mike) Hechtle; eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Bonnie, son Brett, sister Becky, brother-in-law Stacy, and grandsons Cash and Blake.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Walker Funeral Home located at 587 South 100 West in Payson, Utah. Visitation will be prior from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Spanish Fork Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.
