Stephanie Leigh Payne (50), our beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away at her home on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Stephanie was born October 7, 1974, to Don and Cathy Larsen in Encino, CA. She then moved with her family to Las Vegas, NV before settling in Price, UT where Stephanie enjoyed a happy and full childhood with her younger sister Jaclyn, and brother, Derek. She graduated from Carbon High School, where she developed and shaped her love of music and singing with the Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Singers. She was also an avid guitar player and loved to play and sing, especially “oldies” for her dad.
After graduation, she moved to Spanish Fork, UT and began her studies in Radiology Technology through an outreach program at Weber State University. In Spanish Fork she also met her future husband, Scott Payne, and they were married on June 19, 1993. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS temple the following year. They were together 31 years until her passing.
Scott and Stephanie were blessed with three beautiful children, Kyle (Marisa) Payne, Jennie (Mitch) Clark, and Megan (Augusto) Player. Their joy was further magnified by the addition of two perfect granddaughters, Sophia Payne and Chloe Payne. Her family was her greatest joy and the light of her life. She loved being with them and hearing every detail of their travels and adventures.
Stephanie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and strove to pattern her life after the example set by our Savior. As her physical capacities diminished, she came to know Him, rely on Him, and trust in His perfect love for her. She is now free from the pains and weaknesses of mortality, and is back in His loving arms.
Stephanie will be remembered for her exquisite singing voice, her love of music, her beautiful cross-stitch and diamond art creations, her joyful smile and playful demeanor, and her special ability to make everyone feel like her best friend.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Ruth Patterson, Max Wayman, and Tom Larsen; and brother-in-law Brian Payne. She is survived by her loving husband, Scott; their children, Kyle (Marisa) Payne, Jennie (Mitch) Clark, and Megan (Augusto) Player; grandchildren Sophia Payne and Chloe Payne; parents Don and Cathy Larsen; siblings Jaclyn (Jared) Blackham, and Derek (Shannon) Larsen; grandmother Helen Larsen; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and neighbors.
Services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00AM, with a visitation immediately preceding from 9:00-10:45 at the LDS chapel at 3477 E River Bottom Rd, Spanish Fork, UT 84660. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork cemetery.

December 20, 2024 at 12:13 amWe have known and loved the Payne family for many years now and express our love and condolences to you all. Scott used to baby sit our children when he was a teenager and they loved him! As the young women president in the ward, I felt inspired to call Stephanie as one of our camp directors. Not only was she hilarious, but she bore a very strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on many occasions which I know influenced a lot of the girls. She will be deeply missed by the Tuckett Family.
