In Loving Memory of Stanley H Larsen
August 26, 1954 – December 30, 2023
Stan was raised on a small farm in Mapleton, Utah. He was the oldest of 14 and by the time he was six years old, he had five sisters. He said “if you picked on one you had to take them all on.”
He learned how to work by watching his Dad. Together they would milk the cows, clean the barn, chicken coop, pig pen, clean the ditches, paint, dig, build and serve. Stan didn’t stop working and serving until he literally couldn’t anymore.
Stan joined the Army in 1973 and was stationed in Germany. He was proud to serve his country. In the end, the Central Utah Veterans Home was his final stop. It was such a blessing for him to get that amount of attention and care.
During his lifetime, Stan raised his family of five children in West Valley, Utah. His career in animal control was a testament to his dedication and love for wildlife. But what mattered most to him was his family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he strived to serve them the best he knew how.
In his final moments, surrounded by family, Stan was able to say his heartfelt goodbyes, leaving a profound imprint on their hearts. Stan will be remembered as a man of courage, work and service.
Stan Larsen is survived by his loving mother, Beth Larsen; his beloved sons, Brandon, Chad, and Luke Larsen; his cherished daughters, Alysha Larsen and Sabrina Larsen Wilson. He is preceded in death by his father, Ferrus Larsen, and sisters, Marilyn Larsen Francis and Kay Lynn Larsen.
A viewing will be held for Stan on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 9:45 am at Mapleton 19th Ward, 31 West Maple Street, Mapleton, UT. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the same venue. The graveside service will be conducted at Springville Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral service.

January 5, 2024 at 4:57 pmStan was one year younger than I but we were always in the same ward as kids, and we played against each other in little league baseball. He comes from the best of families, and was raised by the greatest of parents. From one Mapletonite to another, Rest In Peace.

February 21, 2024 at 1:33 amTo the dearly beloved Ferrus and Beth Larsen Family of Mapleton, Utah– I am so sorry for your loss! I hold each of you in the highest esteem. I am so grateful for who and what you are because you were a blessing to me in my life! The memories I hold in my heart for the night games we all played, usually in your yard, and riding around in those little cars will be cherished forever! I still remember the one time I was invited to participate in FHE with your family. Treasured as each of you are! I am grateful Stan no longer suffers. May he rest in peace and may you all feel the peace that passeth understanding. God Bless.
