Sherman Frank April 23, 1940 - January 20, 2021

Our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Sherman Ray Frank, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones, on January 20, 2021.  He was born on April 23, 1940, in Provo, Utah, to George and Sylvia Frank. He attended schools in Provo and Spanish Fork, Utah.

On February 8, 1961, Sherm married his sweetheart since Junior High, Jerri Lyn Butler, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Sherm and Jerri lived in Spanish Fork and Benjamin, Utah, throughout their lives.

Sherm worked as a heating and air conditioning technician at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, for 27 years, where he retired.  Sherm loved his work and made every day a great day. He was always early for work and always whistling. He enjoyed practical jokes and laughing with those he worked with.

After retiring from UVRMC, he spent time traveling with his sweetheart. They especially loved going south to Arizona where it was warm during the winter months.

Sherm was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. His family was always his top priority. He supported everything his kids and grandkids were involved with, never missing an event and sometimes even attending practices. He was the best cheerleader around! He loved spending time at his family cabin in Indianola, being outdoors, riding four-wheelers, and was an avid hunter.

Sherm is survived by his children: Allyson (Ron) Nielsen, Shane (Janet) Frank, Heather (Cory) Slaymaker; 16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jerri Frank; daughter, Michelle Frank; father, George Bates; mother, Sylvia Balzy; step-father, Ralph Balzy; father-in-law and mother-in-law,, Mark and Leah Butler; brothers: Reed, George, Floyd, Johnny, and Hyrum Frank; and sisters: Sylvia Lee, Sheila Frank, and Ruby Frank.

Sorry to hear the news of Sherm’s passing. Condolences to family and friends. I remember the days when Sherm would show up to help our IT department keep our data center cool in the summer. He had a great sense of humor and passed that around to everyone. Godspeed Sherm. Peace.

????I will miss him so! Only good part he won’t have to vist his wife’s grave; because he is with her now! He daily faithfully visited and care for her plot. He always had fresh flowers. He took even the mower and trimmer. I could almost set time by him. Everyday! before Sunset he would head to the cemetery.
He was a great friend and neighbor.

Sherm and I quickly became friends after my Mom passed away several years ago. I was unable to attend his funeral services due to quarantine. I’m so grateful for his kindness to me over the last several years. I will miss our talks at the cemetery, but I know that he served his purpose on earth, and is now reunited with his wife and family. I know that he is very happy.

Sherm was the most Non disable Non cripple man with crutches. He was a great example to me what he could and would do to even if maybe he shouldn’t have. It remind me to keep going when I was feeling disabled with my back and shoulder! He was a Spiritual presents for our nieghborhood and ward. He adopted the family acrossed the street as his own. He was a grandpa to the kids. He always smiled and waved when he saw me. His passing-on leaves a big hole in our neighborhood and ward. This pasted year SF did not get to have a parade but there was one on our street for his birthday! Sherm, you are missed! Alison missed you when you moved too.
