Shea Lyn Mecham, 53, passed away February 4, 2026, in Provo, Utah. Shea was born to Fred James Mecham (deceased) and Patricia Robertson Boyle on November 8, 1972, in Payson, Utah. She was raised in Payson and also lived in Orem and Genola.
Shea attended Oakridge school in Provo and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1995. She had recently been attending the TURN, Oasis program. She enjoyed having lots of friends and going to new places.
When Shea was 21, she hit the jackpot and was able to go live with Fred and Corinne Lee’s family, including their children Shalene, Kevin, Robert, Chad, Kami, and Alesha. They were her bonus family. She loved having a big family with lots of love to share.
She discovered her love of travel with the Lee’s. They traveled several times each year to a new destination. To name a few, Alaska, Texas, Arizona, Mexico, California, Kentucky and more. Traveling was without a doubt her favorite thing.
Shea had a great sense of humor. She was clever, smart, determined, naughty, perceptive, loving and sensitive.
Shea loved listening to music, going to church, shopping, playing games, painting, watching Hairspray, Tye Die Shirts, a good party, pizza, hugs, and kisses, Halloween, Reese’s peanut butter bars, playing with her Tonie and PJ’s.
Shea loved to go home to Patti’s (mom) house with her backpack to get spoiled. She would shop nonstop. Her favorite foods were pizza, candy bars, Coke, and popcorn. She loved making cookies to share with others.
These last several years were very complex and complicated for Shea. Her medical needs increased dramatically. She would figure out as her needs changed how to move forward. She was courageous in spite of her challenges.
Shea is survived by her mother Patti (Walt), her bonus family, Fred and Corinne Lee, Shalene (Brian) Shutz, Chad Lee, Kevin (Amber) Lee, Kami Furr, and Alesha Lee, and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother Landon, bonus brother Robert, and grandparents Ted and Nelle Robertson and Fred and Louise Mecham.
Thank you to the countless people that have brought love and kindness to Shea throughout her life. A special thank you to Fred, Corrine, and Alesha Lee.
