Shawna Marie Quesenberry, born November 3, 1969, in La Mesa, CA, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023 at her home in Santaquin, UT due to complications from a gastrectomy.
She was the daughter of Muriel and James Quesenberry and was preceded in death by her grandparents and father. She is survived by her mother Mim Quesenberry; brother Bryan Quesenberry; sister-in-law Jana Quesenberry; nieces Sarah, Hailey, and Paige Quesenberry; nephew Carter Quesenberry; and many cousins.
Shawna had a passion for education and received her Masters in Education. She loved teaching children of any age and ability and found great joy in the classroom helping students achieve their goals. Although she loved her teaching job in Las Vegas, she was unable to continue due to health challenges she experienced for many years.
Shawna served an LDS mission in Baltimore Maryland and cherished the memories made there. She also enjoyed doing genealogy work to find over 30,000 ancestors to complete her family history. Those who surrounded Shawna were inspired by her strength as she remained faithful through nine years of pain and anguish caused by her bad health. Shawna had a strong love for Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father which never faltered during this time.
In addition to teaching children and genealogy work, Shawna enjoyed spending time with family members.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (350 West 860 North Santaquin UT) on December 21 at 5pm for family members to come together in honor of Shawna’s life.
Shawna will be greatly missed by all who knew her but she will forever remain in our hearts with joyful memories shared over the years together.
