Shawn Michael Mahaffey, 41 , passed away May 2, 2011 in Burley, Idaho. He was born March 19, 1970 to William and Marlene Gardner Mahaffey in Mesa, Arizona.
Shawn grew up in Utah. He loved the outdoors: biking, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was very spontaneous and was always looking for the next adventure. He also loved to fix things. If something was broken he could fix it, if something wasn’t broken he would break it so he could fix it. He had a very magnetic personality. He was friends with everyone he met and he went out of his way to find ways to serve others. He was a member of the LDS Church and was involved in scouting and the Elders Quorum. Shawn worked in the printing business, and also in construction.
Shawn is survived by his wife Celeste Treanor Mahaffey, and his children: Brooklin (19), Brea (16), Donovan (9), and Ryan (7). He is also survived by his father William Mahaffey, his siblings: Shannon (Doran) Williams, Salem, Utah; Crystal (Gary) La Sueur, Mesa, Arizona; Robert (Kristina) Mahaffey, Florence, Arizona; April (Grey) Miller, Salem, Utah; his grandfather Orville Freeman Mahaffey (99) of Payson, Utah and 49 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marlene Mahaffey and grandparents Gladys Mahaffey, Arthur Elmer Gardner, and Ella Eagar.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Shawn’s name at Central Bank (801-798-7481). Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery
