Shauna Harvey Peterson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend, peacefully passed away at her residence at Legacy House in Spanish Fork on 1 April 2025. Shauna was born 8 February 1938 in Logan, Utah to Raphael Anderson Harvey and Sarah Rebecca Hawkins. She was the seventh of eight children. She graduated from Tooele High School and Utah Trade Tech with a degree in Business Management Graduating in Aug 1980.
She met the love of her life, Keith Enoch Peterson at Barrus Motors in Tooele. They married in the Salt Lake Temple, 66 years ago, on 19 September 1958. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Keith was in the army. Shauna moved back to Tooele to live with her family and gave birth to their first child. After Keith returned from Germany they lived in Tooele until they built their home in Taylorsville, Utah. Shauna was a wonderful homemaker and made everything beautiful. She taught her family the importance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved preserving the backyard garden vegetables and fruit from the trees. Her family will cherish the memory of the family meals and parties that she prepared. Her family will never forget her little red cookbook. Shauna was very talented. She sewed, crafted, made quilts for many, created memories in scrapbooks, and created many lovely flowerbeds. She loved hand-quilting. She loved playing games and putting together puzzles. Things she loved to do with her family were camping, sister slumber parties, hosting family holiday parties, and loved the moments she spent with her grandchildren.
Shauna took opportunities to develop her skills and worked as an Accountant at a Law Firm in Salt Lake City. She worked as a tax preparer and enjoyed being a teacher’s aide at an elementary school. She also volunteered as a poll worker during elections.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities. She especially loved serving in the primary and had the opportunity to be Stake Primary President. She loved teaching the youth. Because of her loving spirit and charitable ways, she served the Relief Society faithfully and loved being a Relief Society President for the Bennion Care Center. She had the extraordinary opportunity to use her shorthand skills in recording patriarchal blessings. She served with her husband on a mission to Cove Fort, Utah. There they shared the unique importance of that area in history to visitors. Shauna was very involved in genealogy. She spent hours searching for ancestors, doing their work in the temple and helping others to do the same as well as many hours indexing.
Shauna will be missed greatly by her family and friends who have been blessed by her cheerful service. The world will be a different place for her family without her. She certainly endured to the end.
The family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, and those affiliated at Legacy House in Spanish Fork-especially those in memory care, as well as the i-Care Hospice team. We are thankful for their gentle care and the love they showed to Shauna at the time she needed it the most.
Shauna is survived by her husband, Keith, Spanish Fork, Utah. Her children: Richard (Darlene) Peterson, West Valley City, Utah. Christine (Frederick) Orgill, Payson, Utah.
