Sharon Brown Livestream Broadcast

Sharon S. Brown, lovingly known as “Red,” passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and community service. She was born on August 30, 1946, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Charles E. and Majel A. Swanner.

A proud graduate of Spanish Fork High School, Class of 1964, Sharon went on to attend Utah State University for two years before embarking on a fulfilling career. She worked for Longview Fiber for 22 years, serving as their office manager with dedication and professionalism.

On March 13, 1971, Sharon married the love of her life, Glen E. Brown, in Ely, Nevada. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and shared passions.

Sharon had a deep love for nature and the outdoors, often traveling with Glen and spending winters in Mesquite. She found joy in gardening, especially tending to her flower beds, and cherished time spent at the Spanish Fork Gun Club—her “second home.”

Artistic and talented, Sharon expressed herself through sewing, crocheting, and other crafts. She adored jewelry, enjoyed yard sales, and found beauty in the simple pleasures of life. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cheering them on at sporting events or supporting their education with thoughtful donations to their teachers.

A dedicated civic leader, Sharon served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and was a tireless volunteer. She delivered Meals on Wheels, read to children at local schools as the beloved “school grandma,” and shared her time and love at the Spanish Fork Library. Her generous spirit touched the lives of many.

Sharon loved animals and had many beloved companions throughout her life, most recently her cherished dog, Ivy Lou.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Glen; her children, Jaisha (Cory) Christensen and Macord (Kim) Brown; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her brother, Brent Swanner; and her sister, Kaye Lyons. She was also survived by a sister in-law, Wendy Swanner.  Her sister in-law and brother-in-law,  Vicki and Gib Ercanbrack, many nieces and nephews, and way too many friends to name.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Connie Lowe.

Sharon’s warmth, strength, and selfless service will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and community.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Walker Funeral Home located at 187 South Main in Spanish Fork, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Sharon was a lovely lady. She delivered Meals On Wheels to me with her little dog Ivy Lou, named after her grandmother. She and Ivy Lou would often sit and visit with each delivery. I missed her company when she went to Mesquite, Nevada. Condolences to her husband and children.

Sharon was a very good friend to me in high school and after. When I was drafted and sent to Vietnam, Sharon and her friends took pictures of Spanish Fork and what was going on.
I looked forward to receiving her letters.
    I’m heartbroken.
