Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Sharlene Swenson Money, 90, died February 18, 2025, at the Spring Gardens Senior Living in Mapleton, Utah. She was born July 26, 1934, to Waldo and Ruby Swenson in Spanish Fork, Utah. Sharlene grew up in Cedar City, Nephi and Spanish Fork. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School.
Sharlene met Eldon Money from her uncle Ronald Swenson. They started dating and were married on May 19, 1953, in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five children under the age of 5, Lisa Ann, (deceased), Nanette, Leslie, Brent and Allison. Shalene lived most of her married life on the family farm in Palmyra, Utah. They were married 71 years.
Sharlene’s number one priority was her family. She waited patiently to become a mother. Sharlene was very motivated in everything she did. Some of her many accomplishments included being a compassionate nurse. She worked for Dr. Milo C. Moody and Dr. Brian Wolsey. Sharlene was an avid reader. She loved to expand her horizons by learning new skills and enhancing her many talents. She learned to draw and paint in various art classes. She also learned to play the guitar. Sharlene loved to learn and continued her education by taking classes at BYU. Sharlene loved to dance. She was even a BYU Cougarette.
Sharlene was always busy with her hands; crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She loved to cook and was world famous for her Sunday pot roast dinners. She also excelled with homemade biscuits, pies and cakes.
Sharlene loved puzzles. Her children always gave her the very hardest ones to solve, and she solved them all. Sharlene loved to go shopping. She especially liked jewelry and having a new purse.
Sharlene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She and Eldon served in the Provo Temple for many years on the Saturday evening shift. They loved serving in the temple. She and Eldon also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kirtland Ohio Mission. They loved the young missionaries they met in the mission field.
Sharlene has 17 grandchildren. She had a tradition with all her grandchildren. Each year on their birthdays, she would take them birthday shopping and to lunch. She always made each of them feel very special. The grandchildren also went on trips with them, usually two at a time. Sharlene loved being with her family.

February 20, 2025 at 3:39 amSharlene was always smiling. She looked out for others and made sure they were ok. She loved music and loved to dance with us at our Home Evenings. She had a hard time keeping her feet still when music was playing. She liked to sing with my husband then dance out the door. She will always have a special place in our hearts.
