December 31, 2023 at 5:09 pmOh how I love her, she was always my favorite. Our first day of kindergarten she came in, put her hands on her hips, pulled her glasses down on her nose, peered over them and told our class anyone who didn’t behave would have her next year in first grade!
In first grade she handed out warm fuzzies. Little cotton balls and told us why we earned them and something she liked about us. She also wouldn’t let the others keep trying to make me a right hander. She said we will just do this…. And stood behind me grabbed my left hand and angled it to write with her right hand on a chalk board. I’ve been told I don’t write like any left hander anyone has ever seen. Lol! She was stern but kind and loved the kids. Most of all she helped me when no one else did. Many teachers should be and should have been more like her. Love you Mrs. Holt!
