January 27, 2022 at 6:09 pmWendy, my heart is so sad. I always enjoyed talking with Shane and hearing his testimony of his Savior. His desire for peace, kindness, Christ-like love and faith were always an inspiration to me and still are. He handled so much of what he went through we such grace. I hope to be like him. Thank you for sharing him with us. My prayers are with you and all your family that you are blessed with the Lord’s love and strength during this time and the sweetest of memories in the days ahead.

January 29, 2022 at 12:56 amWe learn from many apostles, ancient and modern, about the power of faith, but it’s especially meaningful to witness firsthand—to rub shoulders with—a friend who exhibits strong faith and who lives according to that faith. Such is the case with Shane Seyersdahl. I remember the joy I felt when Shane and Wendy attended Fast and Testimony meeting, and Shane bore beautiful testimony of Jesus Christ. It was clear he had a personal relationship with his Savior. Likewise, in many priesthood meetings, Shane was unreserved in sharing his witness of gospel truths. All this he did with humility and love.
I remember, too, Shane’s determination to serve however he could, even when it was physically challenging for him. Shane was asked to serve as the building cleaning coordinator three or so years ago, when he was in great pain due to spinal issues. He was suffering in other ways, as well. He accepted the call, despite his health challenges. It was explained to him that he did not have to come, in person, to manage the cleaning volunteers but that, if he could call and “commit” the members to come and clean, that would be a huge help. Shane certainly called and committed the members but, because of his desire to ensure everything went smoothly, he came to the building prior to 8:00 am (starting time) and got everything all set up. Then, once the members arrived, he shared prayer with them, and then he trained and worked and smiled through the entire cleaning session, even while in pain. Yes, he was exhausted afterwards, but he was happy, and so was everyone who came to help.
Another thing I appreciated in Shane was his obvious love for his sweetheart. He always spoke of her with kindness, respect, and gratitude. Shane and Wendy were a great team.
I’m saddened by his sudden departure and pray that Wendy will feel blessed and buoyed up. I will miss Shane’s kind and gentle demeanor, his smile, his friendship. He is a good man who will be a great strength, now, on the other side of the veil. I will look forward to being with him again.
Love,
Ken Brimley

January 29, 2022 at 11:20 pmWendy,
We don’t know you well. I believe we met you once in Aberdeen a few years ago. We knew Shane well during his growing up years in Springfield. We have 11 children and Shane was the age of one of our younger daughters, Lisa. The hearts of our family that knew him are hurting along with yours.
He was such a kind, caring young man and was always so helpful to everyone. One thing that impressed me was his devotion and respect for his parents. Especially his mother. His posts on facebook show that same love and respect for you.
We know you will miss him and the days ahead will be hard. We pray you will soon find peace and comfort. Please know that we will be keeping you in our prayers.
Sending our love,
LaVar and JoBeth Bradley and family
