Saul Siney Sosa August 19, 1943 - November 26, 2019

Sau̒l Siney Sosa, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on the morning of November 26, 2019 surrounded by his loving family, after a fierce battle with cancer.

Sau̒l was born on August 19th, 1943 to Juan Américo Sosa and Ida Armilda Floria in Almafuerte, Co̒rdoba, Argentina.  Sau̒l was the loving, committed Father of 6 amazing children – Enriqúe, Andrés, Adrian, Carolina, Elisa, and Elli.  Sau̒l had 2 brothers – Walter Ame̒rico Sosa and Sergío Fernando Sosa.

A word about Sau̒l would first start with this – that he was a man anchored in his beliefs and firm in his covenants with our Father in Heaven.

Sau̒l cared deeply for his wife Ana Elli Chaparro Sosa who, in the end, carried Sau̒l through his mortal ailments.  Sau̒l & Ana were married in Argentina on May 12, 1965, and then were later sealed for time and all eternity on May 11, 1974 in the Provo, Utah temple with their children. Sau̒l raised his children to be hard working, loving parents, committed to doing right in the world.

Sau̒l & Ana emigrated to the United States first in 1974 to study Engineering at BYU and then returned again in 1985 to give his family every opportunity that this country affords.  Sau̒l was passionate about his manufacturing business, a business built from nothing, and literally re-raised from ashes in 1996.  Sau̒l cared for his employees, he was fair with customers, suppliers, and competitors alike.

Sau̒l had great concern for the welfare of his 29 grand children who were always so excited to see him because of his fun-loving way of greeting them with their own one-of-a-kind nickname.  3 of Sau̒l’s children served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and he currently has 2 grandchildren serving in Korea and Japan.  On the day of his passing, his Granddaughter Sydnee received a call to serve in the Fiji, Suva mission.  He was so proud of all his grandchildren!

Sau̒l was a giving man – the Sosa’s helped countless families with a myriad of struggles. In addition to a multitude of callings, Sau̒l served as a bishop for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

In his final days, Sau̒l was able to be with his family for an early Thanksgiving celebration at their home in Bear Lake.  As such we are so grateful that we will always have that memory together with him in his last days here on this earth.  Sau̒l is survived by his wife, 6 children, 29 grandchildren, his Brother Sergio, 16 nieces & nephews, Aunt Ramona Urquisa de Floria (motherly figure), & close cousins Fernando Floria, Ariel Floria, Elsa Ofelia Graiff, and Amanda Rosa Graiff.

Funeral services are to be held at the LDS Church house located at 870 East Canyon Road in Spanish Fork at 1:00 PM with a private family viewing an hour prior.
