Sara Patricia Taylor Roberts, age 92, passed through the veil from this life to join with her beloved eternal husband, Max Wayne Roberts, on the morning of December 5, 2020, in Spanish Fork, Utah.
After years of decline from progressive dementia, she succumbed from a large stroke. The night before, her children kept a prayerful vigil at her bedside, and bid her farewell. Her passing was peaceful, and her children showered her with love and affection.
She was born on June 13, 1928, to Venna Monson Taylor and Bayard Campbell Taylor, one of Utah’s pioneers in aviation. Unfortunately, he suffered a brain injury from a plane crash, leaving him unable to provide much guidance and sustenance to his children during the great depression. Later, at just 12 years of age, Sara’s dear mother died from a tragic automobile accident. Her siblings were then scattered to different extended family members. She was sent to her uncle to be raised for the remainder of her teen years. Despite the challenges of uprooting her from her nuclear family, she managed to distinguish herself in the Merritt Nursing Program. However, she will be remembered in and out of nursing for her incredible unconditional love for everyone. Caring, fun-loving, and quick to self-deprecate, often chuckling at her own imperfection, she was universally loved and admired. She had no enemies, only friends and loved ones. She was very active and involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Her marriage to Max Wayne Roberts became legendary for a very bonded and close relationship with faith, humor and affection. They raised five children together.
She was gifted in nursing, and became an expert in the field of nutrition. She was accomplished in sewing, music, painting, doll making, and she hand-made so many keepsakes, that her personal gifts were anticipated and treasured by all.
She never expected anything but was infectiously excited whenever she received gifts. She loved chocolate, ice cream, and sugary treats, but lived a strict, yet delicious, diet that kept her and those she fed healthy.
Politically, she was very conservative, and an avid supporter of the Republican Party.
Her passing affects many family members.
She will be missed by her large living posterity that includes 5 children, 40 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her children include: Sandra Roberts Smith (9 children, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren); Derrell Roberts (Renee), 6 children, 25 grandchildren; Judy Roberts Barrowes (Kendall), 5 children, 14 grandchildren; David Roberts (Shelli), 16 children, 16 grandchildren; Mary Roberts Carpenter (Raymond), 4 children, 8 grandchildren. Sara’s family is certain that she has been joyfully greeted across the veil by those who preceded her in death, including her granddaughter, Stephanie Lynne Smith; her parents, Bayard Campbell Taylor and Venna Monson Taylor; and all of her siblings (Venna, Joyce, Bayard, Jon, and Jackie).
Public viewing will take place at the Walker Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 6-8 p.m., 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork East Stake Center Chapel, 1150 East 1240 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Interment and dedicatory prayer will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

December 8, 2020 at 2:28 amMy Condolences to all of Sally’s family. She was the most loving person I have ever known.
I first met Sally in 1978 when I started working with her late husband Max. Over the years, my late wife Betty and I established a bond that has survived the test of time.
Sally, I know that one day we will meet again and share the joy of an ever lasting friendship. May God Bless. ????
