Ruth LuWana Wilde, a faithful daughter of our Heavenly Father, passed away on March 1st, 2026 in her home in Spanish Fork Utah at the age of 90 years old. Mom was born on March 24th, 1935 in Park City Utah to Oris Waldo Thompson and Mary Elva Gunn. Mom was the first of two children.
At the young age of 10 months old her family moved to Ely, Nevada. Mom went to elementary school in Ely until she was ten years old when the family moved back to Park City where Grandpa Thompson bought and ran a butcher shop. While going to school at Park City High, Mom played the saxophone in the band. One of her highlights was being able to go to Pasadena, California and play during the 1953 Shriners football game halftime performance. Shortly after graduating from Park City High School, Mom went to work for the church offices. It was during this time that she met Lyle Clark Wilde and was married and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 14th, 1957.
Mom and Dad lived in Oakley until 1965 before moving to Salt Lake City so that dad could be closer to his job working for Cudahy, buying cattle. After getting word that the packing house would be shutting down, Dad was given the opportunity go to work in Arizona where they lived in Mesa, Arizona until 2015 when Dad had his heart attack. Moms house was sold and her and Dad were moved to Spanish Fork. Dad was put in the Veterans hospital until he passed away a few months later, and Mom lived with Elizabeth until her passing.
Mom loved nothing more than visiting family and going on Road trips, going to the temple and going to church. Mom’s greatest joys were her Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her eyes would light up every time they walked in the room. She loved sitting on the floor and playing games with them.
She leaves behind a loving family and is survived by Five Children and spouses: Carey and Melanie Wilde, Jeff Wilde, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Annette Wilde, and Lyle and LeAnn Wilde. She is blessed with twenty-one Grand Children and thirty Great Grand Children.
A visitation in her honor will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.
