Ruth Gray Jensen was born in Lehi, UT on December 18, 1949. She is the oldest of five children. After high school she went to Snow College where she met her eternal companion Jerry Jensen. After they married they lived in Orem, Pleasant Grove, Highland, and Benjamin. She passed away from complications of cancer.
She is survived by her spouse Jerry and their six children; Jennifer, Scott (Kristi), Diane (Phil), Kenneth (Sarah), Alan (Heidi), and Emily (Michael), twenty-five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her siblings Mikey (Michael), Margie and Susan. Preceded in death by her parents Winford and Veda Gray and her younger brother, Marvin.
One of her greatest wishes for her children was that they could have a happy childhood. We would all agree that, with her as our mother, it was.
To Ruth, her grandchildren were her world. She loved to tell them stories. Even the grown grandchildren would stay to lister to her tell a story about some family member long gone or stories she just made up (usually as she went).
Ruth was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She has had many callings in the church but one of her favorites was that of missionary. She served in the MTC and had many experiences there that brought her joy. Her and Jerry were also about to embark on a mission when she became ill. No doubt, her passing is a mission call to the other side.
Ruth loved to make quilts and has made sure she has enough fabric for any quilt that could be needed. No story of Ruth would be complete if chocolate weren’t mentioned. Chocolate chips could be found in all of her favorite spots around the house and some in her purse for just in case.
To our wonderful loving wife and mother and grandma. We love you and will miss you.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3278 West 7300 South in Benjamin, Utah. Visitation will be prior from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. There will also be visitation on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. If you have and want to wear lavender, it’s her favorite color.

August 15, 2024 at 3:47 pmVery few people in life make you feel as good as Ruth did when you were around her. The amazing thing is that same character was passed down to all of her children. Although Jerry had a lot to do with that too. Such a wonderful person. Prayers to the entire Jensen family. FAMILIES ARE FOREVER
