In loving memory of Roxie Lee Marolf
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Roxie Lee Marolf, a cherished mother, grandmother, wife, friend, and an extraordinary English teacher. She departed this world on Sunday, June 18, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, knowledge, and a passion for literature and education that will last forever in our hearts.
Roxie was born on May 16, 1947, in Flagstaff, Arizona. She resided in Kingman, Arizona, for most of her life, and passed in Salem, Utah, surrounded by her children.
Roxie married Ronald Jay Marolf on February 1, 1968, in the Mesa, Arizona, LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together, they shared a love that inspired those around them and served as a testament to the power of lifelong companionship. Roxie greatly enjoyed telling the story of how the two had met on that fateful day in the cake mix aisle at a grocery store. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her entire life.
Roxie embraced the power of words from an early age, cultivating a lifelong love of literature. Her enthusiasm for reading and her unwavering dedication to the English language shaped the lives of thousands of students, leaving an indelible impact on their hearts and minds. In retirement, her favorite activity was visiting the Barnes and Noble store in Las Vegas with her husband and returning to Kingman with an armful of new books. She was also an avid patron of the local libraries.
With a career spanning 25 years as an English teacher, Roxie taught thousands of students in the Kingman Unified School District. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University in 1990, and later earned her master’s degree in Secondary English from NAU in 1997. Roxie entered her career later in life so she could make time to establish a family with her beloved husband. Her children will remember Roxie balancing work, school, studying, and writing essays so she could reach her goal of becoming an English teacher. Her children must have been inspired by her dedication and work ethic because they all went on to pursue degrees in education.
Roxie was preceded in death by her husband who was her partner in life and her biggest supporter.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Kristina Malaine Marolf, Jana (Marolf) Quesenberry, and Todd Marolf. A fourth child, Melissa, has now happily reunited with her in heaven. Roxie enjoyed spending time with her ten grandchildren, Elijah Bargo, Grayson Bargo, Sarah Quesenberry, Rebecca Bargo, Madison Marolf, Hailey Quesenberry, Carter Quesenberry, Olivia Marolf, Paige Quesenberry, and Cooper Marolf. She also has two great-grandchildren, Indianna Bargo and Gabriel Bargo.
A memorial service will be held on July 22, 2023, 10am at the LDS church building at 470 E. Salem Canal Road, Salem, Utah.

July 7, 2023 at 11:33 amDear Malaine, Jana, Todd and family,
Please accept my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy.
I was deeply saddened to learn of my beloved friend’s death. And it is with a very heavy heart that I write this because I know I cannot put into words what a BLESSING Roxie was in my life. We shared a beautiful friendship for over 40+ yrs. and that brought us to become extended family. It was an honor and a privilege to know her and I treasured her friendship.
Your Mom was a beautiful, loving, smart, kind, thoughtful and faith-filled lady. Se loved her
Heavenly Father, her family, her Country and her friends. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends and by all who knew her and loved her.
“Angels welcomed the newcomer
with open arms
And Heaven got a
lot nicer”. (Unknown)
And I know Heaven is a lot nicer with Roxie there.
“Wherever a beautiful soul
has been
There is a trail of
beautiful memories” (Unknown)
May precious and cherished memories of Roxie help to heal the large hole in our hearts. I have so many wonderful memories of conversations with and time spent with your dear Mother. We had so many good times together.
“My mind still
talks to you
My heart still
looks for you
But my soul knows
you are at peace” (Unknown)
I know your Mom had a wonderful reunion with your
Dad, Melissa and with other dear family members and that helps to deal with the profound grief. And I know that someday I will see my “buddy” once again. Till then, like the song says, “She’ll be moving on the backroads of my memory, ever smiling, ever gentle on my mind.”
May she rest in the love and the peace of the Lord.

July 7, 2023 at 4:43 pmFather’s Day, what a wonderful day to leave this earthly portal to carry on in Paradise with loved ones that have passed on. On Fathers Day we not only remember our own father but our Eternal Heavenly Father and give praises to Him and His tender mercies in our lives. What a glorious reunion with friends and family and especially her Eternal Companion, Ron.
Roxie was a wonderful teacher of women through the Relief Society. She was inspired to say things that helped others who were struggling with their faith.
Her smile is contagious and warm to those around her. She is an example of a true follower of Christ. She spread the gospel to those who came around her especially those who came to help her in her health needs.
She is truly an example to me of her kindness to others.
We look forward to seeing her in Paradise.
Love
Ken and Pattie Skousen

July 9, 2023 at 4:16 pmMrs Marolf was my middle school English teacher and while I only remember a few of my favorite teachers, she was one of them. A kind and loving person who taught some of the rowdiest and meanest kids I ever met but never broke her character.
A funny memory is that I had a boy in her class who had the same last name as I. The two of us could easily pass as brother and sister since we both had red hair and freckles. This boy and I had convinced Mrs. Marolf that we were siblings (even though we were the same age in the same class! haha) !! A few years later, we came clean about our deception and instead of being mad she laughed, shook her head and gave me a hug. Then each time I would see her in passing she would make a point to still ask about my “brother” and we would giggle all over again. I really think that speaks to her good nature and spirit.
I also had many hugs from Mrs Marolf while she was my teacher because she genuinely cared about each and every one of her students. Those hugs meant something to me because I am sure she somehow knew I needed them.
The world will be a bit dimmer now with the loss of this bright, shining light.
My condolences to all who love her and will miss her.
As for me, I will never forget her. She was a truly special lady!
