Rose Ellen Hall, 53, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the family she loved so fiercely. Born November 9, 1972, in Boulder, Colorado, to Robert Franklin Hall and Mary Ellen Thompson Hall, Rose was the third of seven children and grew into a protector, helper, and bright spark within her family.
Rose spent most of her life in Salem and Spanish Fork, where she built deep roots and lifelong connections. Exceptionally intelligent and driven, she graduated from Spanish Fork High School a year early while simultaneously earning college credits. Her hard work earned her a scholarship to the University of Utah, but Rose chose a different path—one centered on service, compassion, and lifting others in quiet, meaningful ways.
Rose had a natural gift for creating beauty, both in the things she made and the spaces she tended. She was designated a Master Gardener by Utah State University, a recognition earned through the stunning yards she created—lush, colorful, and full of life. Her gardens were a reflection of her spirit: nurturing, vibrant, and welcoming to all.
Creativity flowed through everything she touched. She loved making crafts, jewelry, and especially food. Her cooking was legendary—her famous caramels in particular, soft and golden and made with the kind of patience and care that defined her. Anyone who tasted them felt the warmth of her generosity.
Rose was fun, sassy, and quick-witted, with a sense of humor that could brighten even the hardest day. She loved deeply and fiercely. She was unwaveringly loyal, a guardian to those who needed protection, and someone who instinctively stepped in when others needed strength. Her love wasn’t passive—it was active, bold, and constant.
Even after her cancer diagnosis, Rose refused to let life shrink around her. Instead, she spent the last eight months actively making memories with as many people as she could—spoiling them with concerts, trips, shared meals, long talks, and the priceless gift of her time. She poured herself into every moment, creating joy and connection with the same wholeheartedness that defined her entire life.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Goble; her siblings Tara Scott, Ginger (David) Deschamps, Robert (Kristi) Hall, Esther (Brad) Cox, and Aaron (Jessie) Hall; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will forever carry her influence in the way they love and serve others. She is preceded in death by her father and her sister, Annette Yeates, who surely welcomed her home with open arms.
Rose leaves behind a legacy of humor, courage, creativity, and unshakeable love. She made ordinary days feel special. She made people feel seen. And she leaves a space that cannot be filled—but also a warmth that will never fade.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rose on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 1413 East 910 South, Spanish Fork, Utah from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
