Roni Sue Broderick Livestream Broadcast

Our dearest mother, grandmother, sister and friend Roni Sue Broderick, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2024 surrounded by her family, after a battle with a severe infection.

Roni was born on December 26, 1955 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to David and Glade Young. She married Micheal J Broderick in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on September 11, 1975.

Roni was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life. She served in many callings and capacities throughout her life and always looked for ways she could serve others. Her testimony was strong and she loved the Lord and found peace and comfort in her knowledge of the Plan of Salvation.

She taught her children to rely on the Lord throughout the good and difficult times in their lives.

She enjoyed camping with her husband and family. She was very talented with arts and crafts. She was always working on homemade gifts – which have become priceless heirlooms. Her greatest joy was her family. She was very invested in each member and tried her best to be involved and support everyone. She was known to put others happiness before her own. She was also a very talented baker. She would always make sure that a visit to Grandma’s house was accompanied by a cookie or another treat.

She worked a lot of her life in Food Services. She was the Bakery Supervisor for BYU’s Morris Center and retired at age 65, after several years of long-term disability due to Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Roni’s time here with family was too short. Her example and love will have lasting effect on generations to come. She was an amazing example of pushing through the hard things of life and enduring to the end. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.

She is survived by her five children – Casey (Trevor) Andreasen of Springville, Utah; Bryan (Jennie) Broderick of Hyrum, Utah; Travis (Heidi) Broderick of Payson, Utah; Kimberly (Nate) Terry of Santaquin, Utah; Mikele (Chris) Baum of Weatherford, Texas and 19 beautiful grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is also survived by her siblings; Karen (Walt) Terry, Karl (Kathy) Young, Arlee (Doug) Kinyon, Jeff (Gaye) Young, Jody (Ken) Ames, Amy (Jason) Wadsworth.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Micheal, her parents; David and Glade Young and brother; Kevin and his wife Barbara Young.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 am at 355 E Center St. in Springville Utah with a viewing for friends and family from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. There will also be a viewing on Friday, November 29th from 6-8 pm at Walker Mortuary in Spanish Fork, Utah located at 187 S Main Street. Interment will be at the Historic Springville City Cemetery.

A special thanks for all the nurses, doctors and staff at Utah Valley Hospital for their excellent care and compassion as they cared for Roni and her family in her last days and especially hours of her life.

We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to Walker Mortuary and Mapleton Floral and Gifts.

Roni is my hero. Despite her physical challenges, she was always a ray of sunshine and joy. She was the worlds best cook, especially her mint frosted brownies. She loved all her kids and grandkids dearly and was the most supportive person I know to try to attend and be present for birthdays, primary programs, holidays, etc. She always came up with the best Gifts for the kids too. She treated and loved me as her own. Yes Roni, was definitely an angel on earth. She will be missed dearly, but heaven is lucky to gain another angel.
