Ronald Judd Heap May 19, 1953 - February 16, 2024

Ronald Judd Heap, 70, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones on February 16, 2024. Ron was born on May 19, 1953 to Daniel LeRoy Heap and Eloise Judd Heap in Cedar City, Utah.

He spent a lot of his childhood going back and forth from Cedar City to Panguitch where his grandparents lived. He always liked telling people about his time playing baseball at the “Sandlot”.

In his early years, his family moved to Orem where his dad worked at Geneva Steel. At the age of eight, his father died in a tragic accident, leaving his mother to raise four boys on her own. As a result, they were exceptionally close and very protective over her.

Ron spent many summers in Panguitch, earning money for college baling hay, while also living in Orem during the school year. He attended Orem High School and at age 17 met his high-school sweetheart and the love of his life, Elna.

Ron and Elna were later married in the Provo Utah Temple on March 8, 1974. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children whom he loved and cherished.

He worked for Pacific State Pipe for 10 years and later spent the rest of his career at Central Bank until he retired in 2016. He created many meaningful, life-long friendships with the people he worked with.

Ron was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings, including his favorite, Scout Master, for over 13 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors of Southern Utah, hunting, camping, hiking the “Y” during his lunch breaks, fishing, off-roading, and desert racing (at age 60). He was a loving husband, father, uncle, and grandpa. His family was most important in his life. He was honest to his core, and loved by everyone he met.

Ron is survived by his wife, Elna, daughter, Amber (Billy) and sons, Bryson (Joni), and Dallin (Hailey), his seven grandchildren: Brylee, Libbie, Ryan, Treygen, Charlee, Jaylee, Blake, many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, and sisters-in-law, Chris and Diane.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Daniel R. Heap, Richard J. Heap, and Boyd Heap.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00am with a viewing prior to services from 9:45-10:45am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 900 S. Ron is a great man. He was a terrific scout and young mens leader. I often remember a number of Ron’s catch-phrases and have even adopted one or two myself. His most memorable one for me is: “Remember who you are and what you stand for.” Ron had made a lasting impact on my life.
