Rodney Clark Warren passed away from a quick hard battle with brain cancer on May 20, 2022 age 67.
Rod was born on May 2, 1955 to Ken and Faye Warren in Payson, Utah. He was raised in Spanish Fork. He started at a very young age working at his dad’s gas and service station Ken’s Service and learned how to fix a car from his dad. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1973 and took many classes at Utah Technical College over the years. Rod married his high school sweetheart Marty Andrus in 1975. He soon took over his dad’s service station that same year and owned and operated a successful car repair shop for 25 years. After he closed the station he worked briefly for Rocky’s Tire shop as a car mechanic, then for Spanish Fork City and ended his career with SunRoc Corporation. Rod became a Spanish Fork Volunteer Firefighter in 2000 and served on the department for 21 years. He loved being a fireman and serving for the city. He volunteered as a firefighter for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. That was an experience he loved to look back on. Rod worked side by side with his dad training and racing horses. They traveled all over Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho racing horses and participating in chariot races. Their horses Chance Flash and Tinker Tom were successful horses and won a lot of races. He was a part of the Wahoo Riding Club in Salem, UT. He enjoyed riding horses and participating in riding club events. He always had a horse in the field ready to go riding with someone. Rod served in the Utah Jaycees Association for many years and did a lot of service projects. Rod took great pride in serving his community. Rod supported his kids in all their endeavors whether it was a baseball or volleyball game or a dance recital. He loved going to baseball and softball games in the summer. He could always be seen at the ballpark in the summer. Rod enjoyed camping and hunting and just being in the mountains. Rod was a good man and he will be missed.
Rod is survived by his wife Marty, son Chet (Mary) Warren in Lorena, Texas and daughter Andrea (Spencer) Larsen in Rawlins, Wyoming; his grandchildren: Gabe, Elizabeth, Eoin, Lyberti and Charlotte. He is also survived by his sisters Lois Haney and Ann Hansen and Brother David (Dorothy) Warren; siblings in law: Pat Christianson, Terry (Sandi) Andrus, Janette (Curtis) Fowden, Todd (Carolyn) Andrus.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents, son Thom Warren, Brother Neil Warren, brothers in law George Haney, Kay Hansen and Frank Christianson.

May 25, 2022 at 2:32 amI was fortunate enough to get to know Rod for the 5 years I worked with him at Sunroc before I transferred to Cedar City. 2 1/2 of those years were running sweeper trucks together. Many days we sat and talked after washing our trucks out and would share stories. Although I have never met any of his family personally I can attest to his love and pride he had for them through the stories he shared. My sincerest condolences to you all. He was a great man, coworker and friend. Rest easy my friend.

May 25, 2022 at 3:53 amIt was truly my pleasure to work with Rodzilla for a couple years starting in 2012. Nobody could turn your bad day around like he could, with his infectious laugh and funny catch phrases. Having the influence of Rodzilla around was not an insignificant thing for me at the time, because he reminded me a lot of my father, who had passed away less than a year before that. I am thankful for the short time I had with Rod, and I pray that his family will be comforted during this difficult time.
