Robert Lee Hudson passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 17, 2024. He was born on December 28, 1954, in San Francisco, California to Grant and Mary Hudson, and was the youngest of four children. He grew up in Sunnyvale, California, where he met his better half, Terri Cook, from Lake Shore Utah, who just happened to be living in Sunnyvale for the summer. They were married in the Provo Temple on December 4, 1982. After living in Sunnyvale for a year, Terri convinced him that Lake Shore was the place to be, so they moved back to Utah where they raised their six children, Jennifer, Kristen, Michelle, Derek, Jared, and Kaylee.
Robert had a love for fixing things. He attended DeAnza College where he studied Automotive Technology. He later worked as a Diesel Mechanic in the Maintenance Department for Pacific States. You could often find Robert in the garage working away on fixing other people’s cars or tinkering with his tools. He loved to get his hands dirty and help anyone and everyone with their car problems.
In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and hunting and spent many years looking forward to deer hunting season. An avid music lover, Robert had a special fondness for the timeless sounds of Elvis Presley, the Eagles, and George Strait. He loved a good football game and was often found watching BYU Football, and the 49ers games. Robert was a jokester and loved to tease his family. You could always tell when he was joking or teasing because his kind eyes would give him away. Robert’s biggest joy was his family. He loved coaching his kids’ baseball and softball teams and rarely missed a game. He was always there supporting them and cheering them on. Robert’s love for his children was evident in everything he did. He took great pride in their accomplishments and was always their biggest supporter.
In retirement, he spent his time mowing lawns for Provo City. He often mentioned how this was his favorite. Each year he looked forward to the Spring season so that he could get back to his lawnmower and back to cutting lawns.
Robert was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a devoted husband, father, provider, and friend who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Terri, children Jennifer (Andy) Gull of Spanish Fork, UT, Kristen (Ben) Call of Twin Falls, ID, Michelle (Stephen) Sitton of Spanish Fork, UT, Derek (Rachael) Hudson of Salt Lake UT, Jared (Hailee) Hudson of Salt Lake UT, and Kaylee (Nick) Rasmussen of Santaquin, UT. 12 grandchildren, and his older brother, Anthony (Tony.) He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Deborah Becker and Pat Walters.
Rest assured, if the grass is greener on the other side, Robert is surely mowing it.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Lake Shore Church, 5916 S 3200 W, Spanish Fork, Utah. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 187 S Main, Spanish Fork, Utah, and from 9:45-10:45 am on Thursday prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Hanna, Carolina, and Sara of Maple Creek Hospice for their outstanding and loving care over the past few weeks.

December 6, 2024 at 6:36 pmHe was my Grandpa. My mom is Michelle. Normally he teased us and we would get a little grumpy at him. But now I miss that teasing. Life is sad. You get mad at the annoying things but when them and the person leave forever, you miss them. 🙁
