Reid Andrew Vernon December 29, 2005 - July 17, 2026

Reid Andrew Vernon Reid Andrew Vernon passed away on July 17, 2026, in Wayne County, Utah, at 20 years of age. He was born on December 29, 2005, in Bozeman, Montana. Reid spent most of his life in Mona, Utah, and Murray, Kentucky. Reid’s parents are Joshua & Raina Vernon and Katrina & Spencer Long.

Reid graduated from Juab High School in May of 2023. Reid’s high school years were constantly filled with adventures. He loved running with the Cross Country team, snowboarding, ultimate frisbee, mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. Additionally, he enjoyed fun and competitive games and sports with friends and family.

Reid’s summers and school breaks were spent in Kentucky, where he and his family enjoyed memorable days filled with laughter. He loved going to the beach, boating, swimming, going to amusement parks, playing frisbee golf, pickleball, biking, paintball, eating large amounts of pumpkin muffins, and numerous game nights. In his quiet and unassuming way, he managed to fill every game or conversation with laughter and love.

Reid recently returned from faithfully serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Bogota South Colombia Mission. During this time of service, Reid’s love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, grew and matured and blessed him with lasting friendships and a firm testimony of the love that God has for all His children. He developed a deep mutual love for his fellow missionaries and the wonderful individuals and families they served. He yearned for the day when he would return and see his Colombian friends again. Since returning home from his mission, he had been attending Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Reid was majoring in Accounting.

Reid is survived by his parents, Joshua and Raina Vernon, and his siblings Lydia, Dean, Seth, and Evan Vernon. Reid was tragically joined in death with his parents, Katrina and Spencer Long, and his brothers Thayne and Gage Long.

Reid blessed and lifted every person who knew him. His genuine love for others could be seen in the light in his eyes and in his infectious smile. He had a gift for quietly inspiring others with his courage and faith, which made all who knew him try to be a little better every day. We long for the day when we will once more be by his side and feel the warmth of his light.
