Rebecca Lynne Allen Carter August 7, 1957 - January 24, 2025

Rebecca Lynne Allen was born in McMinnville, Oregon, on August 7, 1957. She was raised in Salem, Oregon, with her siblings: Daniel, David, and Gayle.

One of her favorite activities in her youth was riding her horse with her sister, Gayle. She attended Sprague High School and in 1974, she gave birth to her first child, Mitchell, followed by Trisha in 1976. While she was raising her first two kids, she attended Chemeketa Community College and in 1981, she gave birth to her third child, Kara. She loved to travel, hike, and go to the beach with her kids while they lived in Oregon. She began working as a bank teller at Yaquina Bay Bank in Newport to support her family. In 1989, she and her family moved to Provo, Utah, and she began working at Far West Bank, where she specialized in mortgage services.

In 1999, she met her future husband, Todd Carter, and they got married at the Clarke County Courthouse, and in the following year, her youngest child, Reed, was born. She loved going to support her daughters at horse shows all over the country and was a massive part of their success with her helping prep and braid the horses manes and tails. She also loved attending her son Mitchell’s BBQ competitions and her son Reed’s baseball games and swim meets. She supported all of her kids in everything they wanted to do and did everything she could to make them as successful as possible. It made her so happy to see her kids succeed in everything they did, and she loved letting everyone know how proud she was.

She also enjoyed many other hobbies like baking and making holiday confections. She loved playing cards at every family gathering and visiting outside with friends whenever she could. Sightseeing was another one of her favorite hobbies, and she loved going on Sunday drives with her husband, Todd. Her pets have always been a big part of her life, and she enjoyed riding her horses and walking her dogs. One of her favorite activities was competing against all the neighbors about who had the greenest lawn, even though no one else knew they were competing. In late 2024, she began to have health problems. Despite her health challenges, she remained strong and fought as long as she could. On January 24, 2025, she passed away at Utah Valley Hospital with her family by her side.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, Todd Blaine Carter; and her children: Mitchell (Michelle) Christensen, Trisha (Matt) Bell, Kara (Leif) Humphrey, and Reed (Brinley) Carter.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Additionally, Rebecca is survived by her siblings: David Allen, Gayle Allen, Mark Allen, and Louis Allen.  She is preceded in death by her mom, Robin Florence Griffith; her brother, Daniel Loren Allen; and a grandson, Cody Donald Ford.
