Our lovely, bright, caring and fun-loving Becca unexpectedly passed away early on May 8, 2022. It was eleven days before her 40th birthday and nine months after the passing of her dear mother. We are left heartbroken.
Rebecca “Becca” Joann (Seegmiller) Williams was born on May 19, 1982 in Provo, Utah into a family who loved her very much. She happily married her handsome husband Dave Williams on August 29, 2014 and soon became the mother to two beautiful children who she completely adored. She and Dave found immense joy in creating a meaningful life together full of unique experiences and lasting memories with their sweet Sophie and Jep. From four wheeling, attending rodeos, riding horses, raising goats and chicks, to long walks, planting flowers and house projects, there were always adventures to discover together.
Becca worked hard and accomplished many things in her life. She was persistent in working towards her educational goals and things she was passionate about. At Orem High she founded a student chapter of Operation Smile, raising a large amount of money and traveling to the Philippines on a medical mission with her twin sister. She enjoyed singing with the school choir which took them on tour to New York City. After graduation, she attended Dixie State College and earned her Associate’s Degree. Staying close to her high school and college friends was important to her and she made it a point to coordinate and attend related gatherings to keep her friendships close.
Becca was known for her passion for taking care of others and excelled in her career in the medical field. She was a medical assistant for dermatology and primary care clinics, IHC Instacare, and the x-ray department at Primary Children’s Hospital. She especially loved being a phlebotomist. She prided herself on being the “go-to” technician because it would only take her one poke to get the blood drawn. She was also an organ donor coordinator for Intermountain Donor Services and a research specialist at the University of Utah. In all her capacities, Becca went above and beyond her duties as a caretaker, forming personal connections with each patient she cared for. Throughout her career, there was no doubt that she proved herself as an extremely intelligent, capable and caring individual.
Becca’s zest and flair for life was obvious in her connection with others. She brought fun and laughter to everyone around her. Whether it was the next karaoke session, outdoor adventure or prank, she was surely going to pull others out of their comfort zone and into a world of excitement! When someone needed to feel important or noticed, she readily shared uplifting words, quotes, music, gifts or humor to show she cared. Becca had an intrinsic drive to persevere through her own challenges and even help others through theirs. Everyone knew that once you became her friend, you stayed her friend forever.
Becca loved to do and see everything including traveling, singing, acting, fashion, aesthetics and do-it-yourself projects. She had an eye for detail and enjoyed decorating for holidays. Becca especially treasured connecting with her children through her love of horses, which they have learned to love now too. Her travels took her to all parts of the country and world including The Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, New York, Philippines, Ireland, Guatemala and Mexico. More recently, she found joy in singing with the Mapleton Choir and Orchestra with her mom and discovering new friends with the outdoor adventure group, Mountain Mamas.
Although Becca lived life big, she still made time for the small things including reading, relaxing, cheering for all her nieces and nephews and making her children feel special. She especially loved getting pedicures with Sophie, reading bedtime books to Jep and laying with them while listening to music until they fell asleep. She was incredibly fun to tease and easy to love. Her mind was clever and her wit quick. Her smile was bright and beautiful and most of all her heart was pure and compassionate. To know her was to love her, because she loved you first.
Becca is survived by her sweet and devoted husband, Dave, their daughter Sophie (6) and son Jep (2), siblings Carrie (Derek), Lori (Milt), Kevin (Natalie), Mark (Micah), Andrea (Jeremy), Emily, Steve, Nate (Kate), Alisa (Daxton), Eric (Rachael), Natalie (Tyler), many nieces and nephews and father, Don Seegmiller. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Joann Seegmiller.
We miss you already Becca, but we know you will be close by. Because of you and for you we will live more courageously, laugh more freely, love more deeply and keep your light shining.
