Raymond Fred Banks, “Ray” was born January 11, 1964 in Payson, Utah. From the time he could walk, to the moment he left this earth, he spent every second he could up the mountain. If you were to ask Ray to describe his perfect day, it would be to spend a day on the property, surrounded by his kids. When Ray wasn’t running dogs, or hunting, he could be found taking stuff apart, just to put it back together, messing around on dirt bikes, getting his hands dirty, and just living in the moment. If you knew Ray, you knew you could find him with his shotgun rider, and love of his life, Spring. Those two met in 1989, and shared a love of the outdoors. Spring and Ray spent their free-time riding the side by side (usually with Zip nestled between them) spending time with the grandkids, camping up Skyline, or spending the weekends with their kids. Ray was a bright light in a lot of our lives, and he will be terribly missed. His legacy and love for the outdoors has been deeply engraved in the hearts and lives of his children and grandchildren.
Ray is survived by his wife Spring Banks of Spanish Fork, Ut, Andrea (Blair) Stringham Fielding, Ut Lacey (Nick) Larson Spanish Fork Ut, Kyrsten Valerio, Hayden(Tasia) Banks Santaquin Ut,Clay (Karlee)Banks Spanish Fork, Ut and 13 beautiful grandkids sister Christina (Ronald) Hales, Spanish Fork, Ut. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Marlene Banks, sons Kurt Banks, Garrett Wilson.
“A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace. From someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad, with smiles and sometimes tears. With friendships formed and good times shared, and laughter through the years. A life well lived is a legacy, of joy and pride and pleasure, a loving lasting memory, our grateful hearts will treasure.”
While Ray was taken from us far too soon, he was a great example of a life well lived. Until we meet again, we love you Ray.

October 27, 2022 at 12:18 amI just loved Ray. He was so down to earth and fun. My Dad, Rollo Jones, loved him. Ray would always say about my dad was that they were true soul mates. They enjoyed the mountains and hunting the same and found joy in peace in the mountains. What a great guy. My whole family will miss him!

October 27, 2022 at 10:35 pmI’m just stunned and heartbroken to learn about Ray passing away. This is a man who could hike the highest mountain with ease. Spring and family, I’m so sorry for your tremendous loss. I hope you can find comfort knowing the type of man Ray was. Generous, honest, and willing to help anyone in need. He was loved by so many. I am going to miss my chats with Ray. The Skyline is not going to be the same without him! Rest in Peace my dear friend.

October 28, 2022 at 2:45 amWe are shocked and heart-broken to read about Ray’s passing. He was a man who not only loved the big outdoors, but had a heart as big as the outdoors! He has taken care of all our family’s auto body needs for nearly 25 years and been a dear friend to each of us as well. Ray always cares about the PERSON and not the electronics. Although he sure made the vehicles look absolutely perfect under his care! Ray was especially kind to my special needs friends and family members we would bring into his shop. He and Stacy were a great team with insurance needs/coverage and Auto Body Works service. So sorry for your loss, Spring, and your family! His kids, grandkids, dog, and you were what made his eyes sparkle when he talked! He will be missed by many! We were very blessed to know him!

October 31, 2022 at 5:58 pmI am absolutely stunned and heartbroken to hear of the passing my childhood pal. I loved every minute that I spent with Ray and the Banks family, in Palmyra. Ray was always quick too humor and even quicker to give a reassuring hug. I will always cherish the time we spent together, hunting in the fields, bailing hay, riding Cracker and racing around like crazy people on his dirt bike. I know his loss will be greatly felt by all who knew and loved him. Dear Spring, I can’t even begin to understand the depth of loss you and your family are feeling at this time. I remember asking him once, how his life was and if he was happy, he just looked at me with the twinkle in his eye’s and said, “I have everything I could have ever wanted, hell yes I’m happy!” It warms my heart to know he had so much love in his life, and he lead a life well lived. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
