With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Raven Heart Chandler. Raven, age 57, went to her heavenly home in her sleep unexpectedly, in her home on December 14, 2024.
Raven was born as Heidi Marie Burr on November 8, 1967 in Orem Utah. She was the eighth of fourteen children, born to John William Burr and Yvonne Chamberlain Burr Christensen. From the time that she got her first babysitting job in 4th grade, until the time she passed, Raven had a deep love for children. Her genuine light and goodness made others feel safe and welcomed. She grew up in Orem Utah, and attended Mountain View High School, where she found her love for dancing on the drill team. At age 17, she began working at a fast food restaurant where she became the youngest person to be promoted to a manager. Raven gave her heart and soul to everything she did.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Dallas Texas area, where she met her first husband Jeffry Roundy. They had two children, Jessica Lynn, and Robert “Seth” Peter. That marriage later ended in divorce. In 1998 she married David “Davee” Eldon Chandler on November 7, in Orem Utah, and they were sealed in the St. George Utah Temple on December 12, 2009.
Raven earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at WGU, and had a gift for teaching. She also had a knack for organizing and often used those skills to help other people.
Raven’s love was as intricate and beautiful as the jewelry she delighted in creating. She found joy in teaching others her craft and sharing her creations. She could often be found making her own beads, repairing others’ broken jewelry, coming up with new designs, and offering custom pieces to anyone who wanted one. Her hobbies also included crocheting amigurumi, word games, wood burning, embroidery, and other crafts. While Raven was extremely creative, it was her pure love for people that was her greatest strength.
She had a deeply personal relationship with the Savior Jesus Christ. It was her love for Him and her Father in Heaven that gave her hope through her battle with narcolepsy and other heavy trials.
Raven leaves behind a legacy of love, mirrored in the lives of those who survive her: her husband, Davee Chandler; her daughter, Jessica Roundy; her son, Seth (Kamie) Roundy; her step-sons, Josh (Janae) Chandler and Adam (Angie) Chandler; her step-daughter, Breezy (Cody) Boseman,14 grandchildren, 12 siblings, and numerous nieces/nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Burr and Yvonne Christensen, and her sister Mary Burr Major.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Canyon Crest LDS Church, 2981 E 1660 S., Spanish Fork, UT 84660. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service.
