Randall LaMar Tuckett, 73, passed away at his home in Spanish Fork, Utah September 8th 2024 with family nearby him.
Randy was born March 1st 1951 to LaMar and Mattie Tuckett of Spanish Fork. He came into this world a bald, chubby faced, cherub, just the same way he left this world. Randy was a very happy baby and child. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially being a brother to his 5 siblings.
Randy is a proud graduate of Spanish Fork High, class of 1969. (GO DONS) He enjoyed his time in high school and made many good friends that he remains friends with today.
As a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Randy chose to serve a mission. He was called to serve in the Great Australian West Mission, where his testimony grew exponentially and his love for the Australian people became very tender to his heart.
Upon the return from his mission, Randy met the beautiful Carla Tanner and quickly “put a ring on it” before anyone else could. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple on December 16th 1972.
Randy and Carla together raised a beautiful family of 6 children. Emily Dixon of Spanish Fork, Jason (Mindi) Tuckett of Nephi, Elizabeth (Riley) Bird of Spanish Fork, Jennifer (Brandon) Hawkins of Spanish Fork, Camille (Andy) Christiansen of Spanish Fork and Alison (Tyler) Allen of Springville. This Tuckett clan loved doing things together, especially camping nearly every weekend during the summer.
Randy worked as an insurance agent for, 1st, State Farm with his dad and mom, and later for Farmers Insurance for a combined total of 40 years in the insurance business. As a result of this successful business Randy built even more friendships and became a pillar in the community where he became very involved and was able to serve with Carla on the Fiesta Days committee as cochairs and chairs over a 3 year period.
Randy held many callings in the church, Some of which included: Scouts, multiple bishopric’s, MTC branch presidency, Bishop, YSA bishopric, temple worker, and as a member of the high council multiple times, including at one time with his dad LaMar.
Later in life Randy was able to serve a 2 and a half year mission with his sweet wife Carla in the addiction recovery 12 step program. He was able to show Christ like love to many addicts and help them travel the road to recovery.
Randy has always had a great love for people of all walks of life. He has lived a life full of service and compassion towards others. One of the biggest challenges he faced was no longer being physically able to serve his neighbors, something that brought him great joy. He has influenced so many for good and has left a great legacy behind him.
Randy is preceded in death by his loving parents LaMar and Mattie Tuckett, his younger sister Kristine Argyle, a granddaughter Lauren Jennifer Hawkins and many other aunts, uncles and relatives.
Our family would like to thank our dear friends the Walkers at Walker’s Mortuary for their kindness and direction in helping us navigate these new waters of loss and for the gentle care they have shown our dad. September 14, 2024 at 7:48 pmI couldn’t let this day pass by without leaving a little message. I have to share some of my memories with you. It seems like as far back as I can recall the Tuckett family has been a part of my life story. I always admired Randy and Carla and when they would speak my little ears always perked up and I listened a little harder. It didn’t matter to me if it was a prayer testimony or talk I would stop and listen intently. I always admired your family, (and still do). I will never forget the way Randy’s smile lit the whole room. Or the countless times he would see me and always ask “Annie you doing ok?” followed by “Do you need anything” I don’t know why I never knew it was your family looking in on uncle Dave and aunt Bethel. I know it feels impossible to carry on after such a loss. Just remember where ever you are there is love around you. My heart is with you all during this tender transition. Know that Randy will always be watching over you, and I know he will have that beautiful smile as he looks over you all. Thank you all for being such a woven part of my story that I will never forget.

October 5, 2026 at 9:34 pmI knew him as Elder Tucket, my first District Leader in Adelaide. While “googling” some of the old names from distant memories I found this memorial. So glade to see that he had such a joyous life with people that he loved. When next we meet I will say to him with all sincerity, “Well done, you have proven to be a ‘YOYANGAMALDIE’ elder.” May I do as well.
