Pearl Marie Christensen Bufton passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family into the arms of a loving heavenly father on March,
8, 2024 at the age of 96.
She was born August 2, 1927 to A.F (Short) and Merle Jamison Christensen in Salem Utah. She was the 4th of 7 children. Pearl married William H. Bufton April 25th 1947 in San Diego California and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1949.
Pearl was preceded in death by her devoted husband William H. Bufton Jr., a baby son, Douglas C. Bufton. Both of their parents and her siblings. She is survived by her three children Karen(Steven) Shepherd, Merlene (Kent) Anderson and Shaun (Christi) Bufton. 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Pearl lived an exemplary life to all who knew and loved her. Pearl was a strong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved it with all her heart. Her faith in her heavenly father and savior Jesus Christ never waivered, she always stood strong. She was a leader in many callings of the church, she led the The Singing Mothers for many years and was the chorister in sacrament meeting. Pearl was blessed with an amazing singing voice and belonged to a all women’s choir. One highlight of her life was when she was given the lead part in the musical Promised Valley.
Pearl and Bill worked in the Provo Temple together two days a week for five years. Serving together gave them great joy and peace after which they became stake missionaries. They were remarkable servants of their Heavenly Father and savior Jesus Christ.
Her family and the gospel were her life and all she cared about. Pearl loved her friends and neighbors and all she came in contact with.
We want to thank her very special care givers. Katie Shepherd (grand daughter) Amanda Barnes her personal care nurse and friend. Clark and Jace, her physical therapists who gave her therapy and walked her up and down the street and made her laugh, Canyon homecare and hospice and Jessica. They all worked diligently with tender love and care to keep her comfortable and keep us all informed. Her special angel granddaughter Sheena Bufton who stayed with her the last days and nights and attended to her every need with love and care. She was our angel of mercy. And Last but not least all of her wonderful loving family right down to her great great grandchildren were there with her til the end.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation prior to services from 9:00-10:30 a.m. located at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 585 North Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Interment will be held at the Salem Cemetery.
