Patricia Hansen Mitchell Richardson June 30, 1938 - April 19, 2026

Patricia Hansen Mitchell Richardson passed away on April 19, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 30, 1938, to Newland Wiscombe and Helen Leek Hansen at the home of her grandfather and grandmother Hansen in Spanish Fork. She was raised in Benjamin and loved being raised on a farm and spending summers in Strawberry at the sheep camp.
Patricia graduated from Spanish Fork High School and seminary in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, John Kay Mitchell, on September 13, 1956, in the Salt Lake temple. Together, they had four children. They later divorced. She married Boyd M. Richardson on August 6, 1992. They made their home in Spanish Fork.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. She served for many years as a pianist and organist.
During her life, she had been employed at First Security Bank, Nature’s Sunshine, Nebo School District, and Foster Grandparents.
Her greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Boyd Richardson, her children, Cynthia Kay Hanks, Michelle (Randy) Roberts, Todd Hansen (Valorie) Mitchell, and Brian John (Jennifer) Mitchell. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Colleen Ludlow.
Patricia was preceded in death by sister Diane Rice, father Newland Hansen, and mother Helen Leek Hansen.
A visitation will be held in Patricia’s honor on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 585 North Main St. in Spanish Fork, Utah. Her funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be in the Benjamin Cemetery.
