Patricia Ann Swan, known to many as mom, Pat, or Grandma Pat was born on July 17, 1949 to Gordon Whitmer Swan and Barbara Ann Naylor Swan. She passed away March 24, 2023, after a short battle with illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia (Pat) was the oldest of 5 children. Her family was always the most important thing to her. A trait that she strengthened by working at the family-owned Swan’s Market with her siblings. As her family grew she would try very hard to attend as many of the school programs, recitals, and sports events as she could. She even made a point of meeting with her siblings for lunch at least once a month.
Pat was a boisterous, fun loving, and adventurous woman who loved sewing, painting, crocheting, ceramics, and camping. She also loved her job at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Book company where she made many friends that she loved to go on bus tours and explore new places with. She also loved going to the senior citizens society to make new friends and make the new members feel more welcome.
Pat had a big heart and was a loving and caring woman and she delighted in helping others. She moved to St. George to care for her aging parents for almost 10 years. Afterwards she moved back to Spanish Fork to be closer to her children and family (stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and siblings).
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her, and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Barbara and Gordon Swan, her husband Daniel Carter, and her step daughter Tammy Doty, and granddaughter McKenna Davis.
She is survived by her four children: Julie (Clint) Anderson, Brenda (Rodney) Dansie, Aaron (Treena) Davis, Danise (Bjorn) Carter, her 6 stepchildren: Jesse, Kenny, Tammy, Jeannie, Frankie, Danny, her 29 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 4 siblings: Judy (Barry) Bishop, Steve (Shireen) Swan, Gail (Paul) Kaletta and Larry (Patty) Swan.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. located at the Escalante Ward building (church by the High School), 99 North 920 West, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. located at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah and again from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment is at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
