On February 1, 2024, in the early evening, a beautiful spirit was joyfully welcomed back to her home to heaven. Nona Jean (Adams) Paskett was reunited with her parents, Alveron Afton Adams and Marguerite Isabelle Toole, her brothers Robert Chell Adams, Richard Carl Adams, Charles Lewis Adams, Gene Dell Adams, Jack Royal Adams, and sisters Barbara Lee, Greta Louise, Alice Rae, Jeanette Dene, and Vivian Ann, her daughter Lucie Elizabeth, and her husband Curtis McKay Paskett. Her son Michael, sisters, Rosa Nelson and Della Howard, and special nephew Orrin Howard will miss her, until they meet again.
At the young age of 5, her mother passed away and her father followed when Nona was just 11. She lived with different family members until 1958 when she graduated as Valedictorian from high school. She was an excellent student and loved to learn and was able to attend a couple of years of college after her marriage to Curtis “Mick” McKay Paskett on August 7, 1958, in Jerome, Idaho. Their family was sealed in the Manti Temple in December 1964.
She loved her family and kept in touch with her brothers and sisters, although she and Mick moved many times around the country as he served in the United States Army. When he retired from the military after 28 years, the family settled in Salem, Utah.
Nona and Mick served together in the Washington DC Temple, and also on a family history mission.
Nona was a woman with many talents and interests; she loved to play the piano, sing, paint, quilt, and sewed most of the clothes for her family. She and Mick were snowbirds for a few years, spending winters down south in their motor home with her fur babies, Alfie and Charlie. But the things she most loved to do became impossible as her eyesight began to fail over the last few years, and she became totally blind. She could no longer do genealogy, sew, or enjoy her beautiful garden. However, she continued to “read” audible books, her favorites being mystery and historical literature. We will miss her dearly.
