Nancy Kay Richmond Jones peacefully passed through the veil on October 11, 2024, in Provo, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 16, 1957, in Provo, Utah and was one of six children. Nancy grew up in Mapleton, Utah and graduated from Springville High School. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University where she had the opportunity to study abroad in Europe. During her time at BYU, she played on the inaugural BYU women’s soccer team and undertook a wilderness survival course in which she spent 30 days in the west desert. Throughout her life, Nancy remained active; she often enjoyed camping, hiking and spending time in nature. She served her community as Treasurer for Nebo United Soccer club for 6 years. She had a passion for life and an unwavering dedication to her family.
Nancy was sealed to Craig Sterling Jones for time and all eternity on April 6, 1989, in the Manti, Utah Temple. They were blessed with two sons, Benjamin and Michael. Her love for her family is evident in the home she created in Payson, Utah, where she raised her family. Nancy was a master gardener; her expertise was reflected in her beautiful landscaping.
Nancy was a woman of infinite talents. She often challenged herself to learn new skills. She is best remembered as an artist, a gardener, an arborist, a loving mother, dedicated friend and devoted wife. She endeavored in home renovation and restoration. Nancy could turn the mundane into the extraordinary, a trait that was showcased in her intricate ceramics, sculptures, and watercolor paintings.
Nancy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a full-time mission in Nova Scotia, and faithfully fulfilled every church calling and assignment she was given. She loved attending the temple, singing hymns, and writing her ward newsletter. She dedicated her life to serving steadfastly in the path of her duty.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Meyers Richmond and Jo Ann Goodrich and her sister Brenda Hubbard. Nancy is survived by her husband Craig Jones, her sons Benjamin and Michael Jones, and her siblings Peggy Wilbur, Myra Miller, Laurie Loader, and Brent Richmond.
Nancy will be remembered for talent in the arts, as a master gardener, for her devotion to her husband and sons, and for her compassion, perseverance, and laughter.
